Just watched a program on aging and retirement when the topic of the Bucket List came up. I often think about what I want to do when I retire, but I've never made a formal list. I got to thinking and one of the things I want to do is see all 50 states before I die. Looks like I need to start planning as I've only been to 15 states. I see a lot of road trips ahead, might have to make good use of Getaways on II and Last Call on RCI.

What's on your Bucket List or what have you already crossed off your list?

I wrote a bucket list when I turned 50. I have already gone through about 2/3 of them.

I'm not sure I have a bucket list. There's a lot of stuff that I'd like to do, but wouldn't really feel that bad if I didn't get around to doing it. In some ways, I've already accomplished my main goals that I ever had, so mostly am coasting? But having fun along the way? Maybe I peaked at 30?

For would like to do - more international travel - see more of Europe, see Japan and Australia and New Zealand. Costa Rica and Caribbean.

Work out getting together with family / friends to play more D&D.

Practice light painting more and other photography stuff I haven't really done yet.

Read more of my non-fiction books and maybe find some more good new to me sci fi, fantasy, action, thriller stories?

Crossed off my list:
Got through College.
Have a good job I mostly enjoy.
Mostly get to do what I want.
Lots of US travel.
Getting away for a while frequently, especially during winter - thanks to TS and hotels.
Made it to London.
Made it to Finland.
Got offroad a bit with my vehicles.

My dream was to visit every continent
I’ve done that
Now I want to visit e wet country and every state in the USA where I’m originally from
Hope I live to see it 👍

Nice list. Some countries are more challenging to visit these days.

I choose not to have a bucket list because I really value living in the present and finding joy in everyday experiences. My focus is on self-improvement rather than ticking off specific goals. I find happiness in the little things, enjoy being spontaneous, and believe that a bucket list can sometimes bring about unnecessary pressure. My goal is to lead a meaningful life that embraces flexibility and has fewer obligations.

I have crossed many things off my bucket list over the years.I obtained my Bachelor of Ed , my Masters, and had a wonderful career in teaching. We had two beautiful children and spent many holidays taking them on timeshare vacations.we have travelled extensively in Canada, the U.S. and many European countries.

Because our son teaches in the international school system, we have visited South Korea and .Vietnam many times..The only major thing left on my bucket list now is to visit Thailand.I would also like to do a few more Caribbean cruises!

instead of a bucket list, many people I know have a "50 by 50" list, meaning a list of 50 things to do before turning 50. These can be trivial things mixed in with bigger goals. Of course, this works for all ages -- my daughter has a 30 by 30 list, wife has a 60 by 60 list, etc. Every decade you get a new list.

Around the world cruise. I think when I know I’m nearing my end, it’ll be time to sell everything and buy a cabin. Hopefully by then the small players in the industry will improve and make it affordable. Lifestyles at Sea was actually affordable (relative to regular cruising and the Residence at Sea).

Those ages have come and gone for me. Although we have done a lot of things that probably wouldn’t have done if we didn’t buy and use timeshares. Looking forward to more traveling soon!

I've about accomplished my life list. Many, many road trips across U.S. and western Europe. Sea voyages across the major oceans and several seas. Have piloted aircraft and NOT jumped out of a perfectly good one. And won't. I've been to war and never knowingly fired a shot because I disagreed with their politics. I've walked on the Great Wall of China and crossed the Bridge on the River Kwai. I have eaten in Michelin Star restaurants, and at LOTS of street booths. Wherever we are, I try to learn a few words of the local language- even if it's just 'Hello' and 'Thank You'. That makes it more real for you and your hosts. I've seen rooms stacked floor to ceiling with eyeglasses and shoes that most recently had been worn by people who were exterminated. I married my DW at a palace in Scotland, wearing a kilt and claiming her for my Clan. At one point, I wanted to drive a lap of the Mediterranean, but politically, that's not realistic these days. I've met business and political leaders and found most of them. . .meh. Nowadays, standing in the Wood River or Henry's Fork of the Snake with a 6 weight fly rod is about as satisfying as it gets.

Looking forward to retirement next year. It has been work, work, work for 45 years with only a two or three weeks of vacation each year in the last decade or so. I will be doing many road trips (I am in the Northeast), along with frequent trips to Orlando to visit the Mouse. I grew up out West and still have a house out there, so might move out that way for a few years and travel all over.

We never have had a bucket list. Things and events just pop up for us. We have had a very interesting life. Something is always happening, sometimes good or rarely bad. I feel blessed regarding the many people in our life that make it so interesting. We do help with friends and relatives on things they want to do or their "bucket lists".

We had a travel bucket list. We hoped to spend 3 months at a time in Europe, do more cruises and visit some places we haven't been in the US. However, when my husband retired in 2012, my 90 year old mother sold her Florida home and car and moved in with us in SC. She was in our home for 13 years. Now, at 103.5, she has been in 2 rehab facilities and a nursing home over the past year. She's miserable and expects me there every other day. I'm easily manipulated apparently because I try to do it. We do have 3 cruises planned. One is our 4th On the Blue Cruise, a really cool 60's and 70's rock and roll music cruise, this month. A river cruise, Budapest to Prague, in the Fall and another cruise to Japan and South Korea in the Spring. Hopefully, we make all of them.

I hope you make them all, too. We are tentatively planning a Danube cruise east from Vienna to the Black Sea for next Summer on AMA.

I am hoping to go to Latvia next Sept to observe terrier and dachshund den (hunting) trials.

That will complete my Bucket List. 😉

I am lucky and healthy enough to have done most of the stuff on my list. All seven continents. My first safari coming up. Not too many places left I really want to travel to. Maybe Japan on a photography tour.
At almost 80, in good health so far and active, I keep trying to reduce stress in my life. Sold the RV, I am the driver and I didn’t like towing it and constantly fixing it. Gave the TS back to the development. No timeshare places I want to return to. Sold the farm to the kids. Too much work. Rode horses for 50 years. Three are buried on the farm. No more riding and I miss it but too stressed out about getting hurt.
DH doesn’t drive, assorted health issues.
10 years ago I picked up a few cameras and that’s been fun and rewarding and I have placed in a few competitions.
I still have a banjo in the closet waiting for me to learn that too.
I hope I never have to move in with either of my sons and their families. That would be major stress for all of us.

If I were to make a bucket list I think I could just copy ideas from the posts on this thread.

The problem with the 100 by 100 plan, for me....
I can't think of 100 things I would be able to do.

10 by 80 would be a stretch.
LOL! However, the point of the X by X lists is that you are supposed to put in a mix of big things and trivial things. Like "eat at that new restaurant" or "spend a day with my granddaughter", etc. The object is to be constantly making progress on the list. And yes, as you get older, the ratio of trivial to large items on the list increases.
