Happy Thanksgiving everyone

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

This year will be a bit different for us. I am recovering from foot surgery and can't stand for long periods.. Decided to order a turkey dinner from Whole Foods, and will just have to reheat everything.

Will miss the family recipe for turkey and cornbread stuffing, but am sure our meal should still hit the spot.

Diane, so sorry for your loss, but I am glad you were able to celebrate Thanksgiving with your family.

We are at our wonderful mobile home park in Sebring, Florida, and will celebrate with 200 other residents in the clubhouse tomorrow. Management supplies the turkey, gravy and rolls, and people set tables for themselves and friends and bring sides and desserts . There are 24 of us in our group, all friends from Canada. I am making pies and a pickle tray. It is always such a wonderful day!

Happy Thanksgiving. This will be a bit different Thanksgiving for me. I handed off the turkey cooking job. I see there are two turkeys soaking in brine and a few bags of hickory pellets in the garage. I think the son in law is going to smoke them. Should be good.

The key for the pellet smoker is to spatchcock them prior to putting on the smoker. That way the inside cooks at the same speed as the outside.

This has always been by Favorite holiday. Time to give Thanks.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving everyone🦃

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

It’s snowing like crazy and I’m worried my son was going to drive here today. I told him not to but he won’t listen. About to lose more of my hair than I already have!

Happy Thanksgiving !

Jimmy Fallon had a few suggestions for last-minute Turkey Day substitutions on The Tonight Show.

“For instance, if you can’t find a turkey, you can slap two booties on a Costco rotisserie chicken,”
“If you can’t find wine, you can bust out the expired Robitussin — it works!”

“If you can’t find a gravy boat, get this, you can run your neti pot through the dishwasher and call it a day.”

“Next up, if you can’t find mashed potatoes, corn, and mac and cheese, you can DoorDash Boston Market, then put a finger to the delivery guy’s lips and whisper, ‘Our little secret.’”

“And, finally, if you can’t find salad, you can forget about it, ’cause nobody really wants salad.”

Happy Thanksgiving my TUG friends. Sounds like some very nice celebrations are in store. Thanksgiving is my favorite day, too! DH is 1 of 12, and it's always a big get together (something he promised his mother). DH is the maker of the stuffing, something in progress now at my daughter's house. It's quite a tradition and event! We are very fortunate to be able to use a church that is the most perfect setup for our group - there will be over 40 adults and I'm not sure how many kids. It's the area they use for luncheons and such, fully stocked (dishes, silverware, dishwasher (more like a school kitchen)), all decorations imaginable (from the ladies club). Across the hall from the dining area is a gym (basketball court with lots and lots of other things for the kids). I'm beyond grateful for this 'set up'. It used to be our house :) Lots and lots of good food, family and friends, and every helps clean up!! Gobble, gobble!!

As we were leaving DD's house in Encinitas yesterday afternoon to return to Seattle, 11-yr old DG said this had been her favorite Thanksgiving ever.
