Anyone notice Instant Upgrade glitches after last maintenance?

Since the last maintenance shut down I have not been able to instant upgrade. 1bedroom to 2 bedroom within my discount period. All are available. I tried several different resorts I get the appropriate discount but no option to upgrade. Is this a benefit that they are taking away?
 
I was just on the phone with a VC - this is a known issue and likely top of the list for them to fix (they are not intentionally taking the benefit away).

They are working to fix it. In the mean time...it is best to call and have a VC make your reservation. They will notate on your reservation that an upgrade was available but didn't work. (For example if there is a 1 bedroom and a 2 bedroom, book the 2 bedroom). AFTER you check out, call back and they should adjust the points. I asked what if you are closed, can we take a screenshot -- she didn't give a lot of encouragement for that approach, said if you do this, call back when they are open and see if the VC will notate the reservation.

FWIW, I was denied an instant upgrade into the 2BR unit I wanted this afternoon, but took the 1BR option and asked for an upgrade. The upgrade came through (not as an instant) but to a different, less desirable, 2BR unit. It really would not surprise me to see instant upgrades eliminated in favor of the automated upgrade process. I'll not be happy, but with Wyndham, disappointment is pretty much the norm.

The VC only said she was sure it on the top of list for them to fix.

OY, I sure hope not. That would be a huge loss of benefits. I dream of having it back the old way - when we could find an upgrade and do it ourselves (rather than wait for the automated upgrade to process). I do think the upgrade process is working better than it used to, but it still fails quite frequently.

It would be a real loss of benefits. But, that has been the Wyndham way in recent years.
 
I’m trying to sign in now and can’t get in. It takes my username and password, then the verification, but just goes back to the login screen. No error message, no delay, no spinning wheel, just immediately back to the login screen. I’ve tried using Safari and Firefox, same results. Or, lack thereof! :mad:

No. This happened on my ipad this morning. I tried a little later in my iphone 15 pro using Safari and it worked. I just saw your message and tried again on my ipad. Same result as this morning. Then, I finally noticed that Norton’s had flagged it as an unsafe website and was preventing me from accessing it. I know the site sucks but I don’t think it is unsafe. I told Norton’s to allow access and now I can get in on the iPad.🙄

I got in yesterday afternoon for a bit. Then got interrupted so it timed out. I haven't been able to get back in since then. I've tried 3 different browsers and on my mobile phone, and each one has the same thing happen as you. Frustrating.

I haven’t had a problem after overriding Norton’s.

Instant upgrades - they're back!! (The instant upgrades are working! (After the maintenance last night)).
 
I was on in the 7am hour and nothing worked. It was pink bars on every page.
Hopefully things are working for you now? I was on at about 7am CENTRAL - booked with an instant upgrade, then cancelled it - just checking it out. I didn't have to clear cache or anything.
 
There are still issues with Instant Upgrades. If there are presidential units or accessible units in the path, you'll always get a message that the unit you are trying to select is no longer available. It is available - the system is still broken.

The other difference here (since the maintenance on April 17th - is that we are being shown better upgrade choices (albeit they don't work). This would be so nice if they actually got it working - it would restore instant upgrade benefits LOST in 2017 (when the Voyager system was introduced). I tried to walk a VC through this (showing her the unit really was available) and hopefully convinced her to report the issue (but I didn't have warm fuzzy feelings she truly understood - she was happy to call the better upgrade ghost inventory (and it was not)).

I've seen this now when presidential units are involved and/or when accessible units are in the path. If those aren't involved - standard unit instant upgrades work.

TIP -- Use your back error AND Then select EXIT BOOKING to get out of this (when you get the message 'unit no longer available'. Using the back arrow may keep your account from getting locked for 15 minutes. If I don't use the back arrow first, my account is locked with a message 'transaction in progress'.


1st picture - booking a 1 BR Mobility - I am offered a 2 BR Dlx or 2 BR Dlx- Mobility (maybe they are trying to give us back pre voyager functionality)?
2nd picture - being offered a presidential unit as an upgrade (again wondering - some pre voyager functionality coming back)? (I can book this 3 BR Pres - HI - if I want to, so the error message is wrong).


They need help!!! Let's hope they really are trying to give us one of our old benefits back and let's hope that they get someone involved who understands how this should work

Still seeing same issue with the upgrades. I don't know how many people this actually affects (thus concerned there is not alot attention on it). To see this, it needs to be during upgrade period for a VIP - and have accessible units involved. It makes it IMPOSSIBLE to instant upgrade an accessible unit. The result is VIPs are not be able to use the benefit. VC's can't do it either :-(

If you can provide a step-by-step list to reproduce this issue using current inventory - please post it and I'll submit the issue to Wyndham IT for investigation. I can see the results in your screenshot above - but I don't know what the date range was for the inventory search to attempt to repro this issue - and these screenshots were from a couple weeks back now.
 
Sure.... I just picked somewhere I felt pretty comfortable there would be a slew of upgrades available (as this could change any time)....

Star Island, June 10-12, was a good guess (I'll also add, in this scenario upgrading to a 3 Bedroom Mobility doesn't make sense, either - the path in my earlier screenshots was possibly a valid path):

Select to book the 1 Bedroom Deluxe - Mobility (and I'm offered an instant upgrade to a 2 BR Lockoff or a 3 BR Deluxe - Mobility

A VC wasn't able to do it for me either (the other day when I called). I'm not sure they really understood the issue, but they said they'd report it.

AND...I don't know why one or these is step 3 and one step 4 (to complete booking), I was going to try to figure it out. But as I often do when backing out of a booking, I get this (usually I can if I use the back arrow, but not always). This time is a not always :)

Hope this helps. The upgrade issue is preventing upgrades when accessible units are involved. Maybe not that many people try to? It does prevent VIPS from getting full benefits they should be getting. I appreciate your help, @HitchHiker71, let me know if you need anything further.

I notices some strange upgrade options, but I didn't try to book then. Thanks for giving me a heads up they are not working, but i need some to work in the next 2 weeks. Think it might get fixed by then? Likely NOT.
 
Speaking of strange upgrade options, how can you have this and not have any 1BR Deluxe? This was at Nashville late June and I was able to upgrade to the lock-off and book.

I've gotten instant upgrades the last 2 times (last week & this morning) I've brooked at Pagosa. ! bedroom to 2 bedroom loft.

If there aren't accessible units involved, they work. Were there any in your scenario?
I've also selected an accessible unit (that the instant upgrade didn't work on) and selected to upgrade if something came available, and it upgraded overnight.
