Thanks, Richard
Did not realize the US have not launched an astronaut from our soil since 2011 into space. That is a very long time ago. Wishing SpaceX a successful flight into space.

SpaceX crewed mission is a 'go' for launch next week.

This is how NOT to watch it! Disregard for Social Distancing at its best!

Please don't tell me that was from yesterday? My bff lives on Merritt Island. She said they had all been "encouraged" to watch the launch from home on television, or at least to use social distancing.

Oh yes it was! Other vantage points (parks and parking lots) along the Indian river were just as bad. A woman who works at our timeshare in St Augustine drove her kids down to watch it. Everywhere was so crowded she found a parking spot with a good sight line and wouldn't let her kids get out of the car. She thinks they'll watch the launch from the beach in St Augustine on Saturday.

definitely not social distancing!
that's the bridge that goes over to Merritt Island NWR and Canaveral beaches, been there many times

The historic SpaceX-NASA launch could once again be scrubbed due to bad weather.

According to my bff, whose dd works Safety for the launches, if it doesn't go today the next planned date is tomorrow. After that, there is no Plan C, at least that she knows of.

Where was this photo taken? The majority of the people are not wearing masks. Why?
Someone closed this public bridge for a private space launch? No way
The photo I posted (copied from an American newspaper) was of the A. Max Brewer Bridge in Titusville. It crosses the Indian River and was closed by the city to vehicular traffic in hopes that people could spread out to watch the launch, instead thousands flocked to the bridge to watch. Bad enough that they are so close together but very few (if any?) are wearing masks!
No word if the craziness was repeated this afternoon.

From today's launch. Posted by our friend who works Safety at Kennedy Space Center.

American astronauts and an American rocket have returned to space.

appears to be a success --- prior to docking with the ISS
(but they need to come up with a better name than DEMO 2)

Kind of exciting watching a launch again. I used to make it a point to watch them all. Godspeed to the astronauts.
