Good morning...

3 years ago I met the Gregster at the final Bolts game of the season. Greg still has his white "away" jersey (lettered of course).

This year it's Sue's turn as she arrives at the Amalie Arena for Bolts v Bruins. A potential first round preview. Sorry, Sue no jersey for B's fans!!! But dinner on me, if you wish!!!

Every TUGGER should check out a Bolts game. My humble opinion, Most fan friendly and community pro-active organization in sports!!! Every game, our owner gives $50,000 of his own coin, to a "community hero".

Go Bolts

What a great thing for the owner to do.

Never been to a bolts game, but do get to numerous Wild games in St.Paul. We have a great arena and awesome game atmosphere. Hockey has to be the very best sport to watch "live". Wild made the playoffs last night with a win over Chicago. Hopefully we make a nice playoff run. And Puck, thx for all useful insight you give to everyone on TUG. I enjoy reading your and GregT's posts along with numerous others.

Don't mean to be naive, but who are the Bolts?

Tampa Bay Lightning.

I don't find it nearly as easy to pick up on live play at a hockey arena, as I do at a baseball stadium, but looking forward to the game very much. It may have playoff implications but will be a good time regardless, especially as it'll be my first time meeting a real, live TUGger. See you soon, Puck. :)

Thought you were talking about the SD (LA?) Chargers. I would expect to see Greg there.

Now that the question has been answered I am understanding the screen name better -- man in Florida who likes a game using pucks.

good afternoon...

Tampa and St Petersburg have had this p--ing match for years!!! So every franchise here carries the Moniker... Tampa Bay.... Rays, Buccaneers, Lightning etc...

just saying!!!

good afternoon....

As an aside about our owner...
When the idiots shut down the game 9/2012-2/2013 our owner kept the offices open and EVERY employee got their paycheck during the entire lockout. Only one other NHL owner did likewise...

Dude rocks...

Puck,
Can you get your owner to buy the Knicks and Rangers? We can use someone like him.

good evening

Mr. Vinik has serious coin... but I'm not sure he has enough to take on Knicks/Rangers...

Knicks are freakin' mess..

Rangers are going to win Stanley Cup... they are really good...

Puck has great seats too -- they are Center Ice, first row of the overhang. Great seats -- the owner box is just behind him.

Sue, enjoy the game and you too will start to become a Bolts fan...(you are welcome to embrace the Chargers too...)

Best,

Greg

I thought Tampa Bay was a body of water, they play ice hockey underwater?

Perhaps they play it on the water, if it would ever freeze.

My brother-in-law and I enjoyed meeting Puck and his wife at last night's game, despite the Bruins fizzling out badly lately and ending their season with the loss. It was an exciting game all the way through the shoot-out - fantastic arena and the crowd was pumped like they should have been with their team breaking season records. There's always next year for the Bruins. If I could find it in my heart to root for any other NFL team (which I do in MLB - any team playing the Dreaded Yankees) I'd root for the Bolts, but I simply can't. Just like I told Puck - if he had given me a jersey like he gave Greg, I wouldn't be able to wear it. :D

We were with a friend whose son played with Brian Boyle during high school so we got Guest passes to meet with him after the game. That was a great experience, too, and now I just have to figure out a connection that can get me up close and personal with the RedSox.

There's a picture somewhere on Puck's phone and maybe he sent it to Greg? I hope to see it soon. I got the impression Puck is exactly the same offline as he is online and that's a good thing. His wife was lovely, also as expected. And now that I've met my first TUGger I'm hoping there will be many other opportunities.

Puck, whatever you say about me it better be good - you wouldn't want to lose your posting privileges, would you? ;)

Sue, I'm glad you enjoyed the hockey game with Puck, as I did back in 2012. I do have the picture, but my technology skills have thus far eluded me. I will figure out how to get it posted, but it is attached for now!

Best,

Greg

Might be better for a different message board but I would like to take a vote of sports fans. To me the Bolts are the Chargers and I have never once heard of the Lightening as the Bolts. I think that's likely a local thing in Tampa. Just a guess as I am a pretty big sports fan. Being originally from (the new) Hockey Town (Los Angeles) I even know a bit about puck! :)

As for your owner I didn't know all of the above and I love to hear it. Here in Sacramento we have had some mediocre owners of our only pro team. Hoping the new owner is better but not off to a great start after firing the coach early in the season.

I know, right? They never should have allowed me in the building!

After shoveling snow every day for what seemed like months on end and then having to deal with another freakin' snow squall the day that I had to pump water out of the pool because of the snow melting, it was a very quick decision to get out of there and head to Florida. Booked the tickets and flew six days later, not at all the type of travel planning I usually do!

Anyway, I left the Bruins jersey on the bed back home along with a few cables - one to attach my computer to the printer so I could get my taxes filed, and one to attach my camera to the computer. Doh! I found them both, cheap, at the flea market this morning while shopping for vegetables so hopefully I'll get some pics of the game up later tonight. :)

Go Sox....opening day at Fenway today!!!

Go Sox! I downloaded the WEEI app so I can listen from the beach. :whoopie:
Sue, you cannot listen to any MLB game via local online radio feed or app. Only MLB (paid) feeds. Or, you can follow on gameday here: Wash at Boston
