Now, or after 12/31/25?
Traveling to O'ahu and will need to rent an oxygen concentrator. I've googled it and there are plenty of companies so finding one shouldn't be a problem. Just wondering if anyone has any random recommendations or advice. Thanks!

Have you considered renting (a portable) one at home that way you can use it on the flights.

He has a portable one, and will bring it on the flight. We understand to notify the airline ahead of time. He's not on 24/7 oxygen support, and really only needs it to sleep, or he falls below 90. The portable ones are never recommended for sleep. Typically we just call his supply company and they put in a travel order and it's there wherever we go. Unfortunately, they do not have a Hawaii office so we're on our own. Thanks for the idea, I wish we could use the portable one for sleeping, but as I understand, it is not recommended.

Understood. I got a pacemaker in Germany in 2018 and was not allowed to fly home without a nurse and oxygen for the flights. Afterward I had a concentrator at home for sleep, then transitioned to a VPAP that freed me from the O2. I'm able to travel with it. So far, so good. Best to your husband.

Thanks, your advice is right on the money. His doctor advised CPAP but he could never get comfortable with it. CPAP would be much easier to travel with, but I have to understand he just doesn't like it. The concentrator is never a big deal until these rare situations. I really appreciate the feedback, I'll share your success story on CPAP with him!!!

Perhaps an oxygen tank instead of a concentrator?

Trying to avoid tanks. They don't last long and are heavy. Here is a small sample of what I see when searched in Google.

(Search results removed)

One of them has good reviews, just wondering if anyone has used any supply company there. I don't mind paying more if the service is good.

Hey, I think my post was removed and probably due to posting businesses in my search result. I looked at my post and was revising it and got an error as someone beat me to revising it. I'm sorry, once I looked at it I realized how it read and was trying to change it. Im so sorry, I re-read my post and get it. It was not intentional. If anyone has any recommendations, please just PM me.

I'd go with a local provider. Oxygen concentrators are cheap to rent and you'd want someone that will come in case the alarm goes off and has someone on call.

I personally just use my Inogen G3 but it's a pulse. You can sleep with it if you aren't using it in line with a cpap or bipap. Well technically that's what they tell you but I just put it under the bipap mask, I use a full mask instead of tee-ing it into the mask.

You can also take it on the plane. You just plug it into the wall instead of using the battery pack. It should work all night. It does get hot so you need to make sure it's well ventilated but I've had no problems using mine for short trips. Hope that helps.

I've not had to rent one in years since buying mine. I have had to change the cylinders and the battery though, but that's just regular maintenance. I've owned it for 10 years now.
