New scientific paper: offshore wind turbines alter marine eco-system, could shift ocean currents

Wind and solar are MUCH more land intensive than other electric generation sources, and therefore do more harm to the environment
Really? How much land is utilized by reservoirs for hydro electric generation?

Kurt

At least this thread isn't political or involve contentious social issues. Though the main antagonist is definitely part of a religious cult.

Let me guess, you are a Scientologist ?

To me, the big lakes on the Columbia River, created by dams, are aesthetically beautiful. The wind turbines and solar farms create a massive ugly eyesore.

What did the environmental studies conclude at the outset of these windmill projects? Can we conclude the studies are biased toward interests other than the environment? Follow the money....

Bingo! In Germany, the vast majority of lawsuits to stop wind projects are filed by environmentalists. The government is in bed with the wind and solar developers.

China may try to showcase wind and solar, since they are the primary makers of that equipment, but they are building dozens of new large coal power plants in their real energy push, also nuclear and hydro.

How many times have you regurgitated that same nonsense, Brett? Can't you at least find some NEW undocumented material instead of posting the same nonsense over and over and over again? Surely your Climate Industrial Complex sources have something other than that.

One big irony of Europe's wind / solar push and its higher electric rates as a result, is that China making wind turbines with their cheaper mostly coal-fired power is putting the European companies trying to compete with them to build wind turbines in a big hole where they cannot compete. The losses in German's Siemens wind unit were so severe they were jeopardizing the finances of the entire company.

The Financial Times is behind a pay wall so much of the article is quoted here:

Your misrepresentations on Australia from the climate industrial complex were answered before, but since you just keep reposting, I will answer it again:

As to the UK, your post based on the false flag of "levelized cost of energy" is blown out of the water by multiple links I have posted showing that actual power bills in the UK have tripled since the wind / solar push started. The key thing to remember is that "levelized cost of power" is NOT the same thing as what shows up on your electric bill, and in fact is a LONG way from it.

Many farmers are IN FACT not so fond of wind and solar. In Europe, there have been massive farmer demonstrations against the EU Green Deal and its Net Zero, which the farmers call "Climate Communism"

The Washington Post reports that gadgets installed in wind / solar equipment sold to the US allows the Chinese military to create rolling blackouts across the US at their whim.

When will you make a post from a well know source that isn't behind a paywall
You make fun of Brett because he doesn't use links
You use links that no one can access
They may work for you
They don't work for other people

The story above is not new

If you think this situation is still an issue
You do not have a lot of faith in our cyber guys

The best bet would be to just not depend on China, an adversary, for equipment that would be necessary for our energy. They make 80% of solar panels and for wind turbines, they are making not only whole turbines, but components installed in turbines built by others.

did the Inflation Reduction Act allocate money for domestic production of solar panels and related equipment

Yes — the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) specifically allocated funding and tax incentives to boost domestic production of solar panels and related equipment. It created new manufacturing credits and expanded existing ones to encourage U.S.-based supply chains for solar, wind, and battery technologies.
