I will be in Myrtle Beach next week and was considering checking-out the new HGVC resort there. I was hoping to do an "informal" or "self guided" tour of the property; I don't need to sit through a sales pitch. Does anyone know if this property is open, at least for visitors or tours?

I'd imagine you could walk in, but only half is HGVC. The other half is existing owners of condo units. It is unlikely they'd allow you to wander around or look inside units without being in a sales pitch scenario.
I'm staying on property this week. It's open. You can can walk in from the street and look around but the lobby is sort of small. So you may be asked if you can be assisted.
You'll need to walk thru the lobby and into the valet/unloading area to get to the pool/bar area.
You can park next door at the public beach access.

I was there over the weekend and the sales team seemed to be doing a brisk business with tours. The actual sales office is located in another building within walking distance (behind the Put-Put golf course) of the Anderson/HGVC resort.
Just for info, if anyone is checking-in and has never been there before, there is no sign indicating where to check-in nor is there a portico outside the resort to unload suitcases etc. You actually have to drive into the garage which I was reluctant to do when I first arrived. They really need a sign or something indicating where to check-in at IMO. Valet parking is free BTW for HGVC owners staying there.
