We check into a two bedroom this Saturday. I'm taking any and all suggestions. What room should I request? Top floor? One member of our party does not do well with stairs so there would have to be an elevator. Is there a washer and dryer in the room? Where should we do our grocery shopping? What are some good family restaurants in the area? Any helpful information you can provide will be most appreciated.

Thanks,
Charles

We were there for a few days in the late Spring. I don't have a map of the place, have you looked at their web site? We had a two bedroom lock out unit. It did have a stacked washer and dryer in the one bedroom side. It was nice. We had the ground floor and from our back porch you could see a little of the ocean. The building we were in did have an elevator. We exhanged via II. You would need a high floor to see much of the ocean - the barrier sand dunes are really grown up. We ate in, so can't make any recommendations for where to eat our. We had our oldest daughter and her family - two boys ages 3 & 5 and they really enjoyed the pools and the activities. The only problem we had were the "love bugs" that came in at certain times. There are a few things to do in the area, but not a lot. There are two grocery stores, not far. Ask directions at the desk. They were really helpful.

Although the chances are not great of getting an ocean view with a 2br, a higher floor would have a better chance of at least a partial view.
I am pretty sure all buildings have an elevator, and I'm certain all 2brs have a W/D in the room.

There is a book of restaurants and menus located just to the left of check-in.
Some favorite restaurants amongst Vero regulars are Captain Hyrams, Lobster Shanty, and Ocean Grill.
I personally think Captain Hyrams is good (not great), Lobster Shanty is fair at best, and Ocean Grill is one of the best restaurants I have ever ate at (although not cheap).
They also have 2 restaurants on property, Sonya's, and Shutters. Sonya's is more formal (and pricey), and may be only open on weekends depending on crowds. I love Sonya's for dinner and Shutters for breakfast, but they actually share the same kitchen.

Vero is not a night life hot spot. It is a nice, quiet, relaxing town.
Because it's on the treasure coast, there are a couple interesting museums in the area. There is also a nice downtown shopping area (near the Ocean Grill), but they roll up the sidewalks at 5:00.

We love the Vero Beach Resort for the relaxation.

Have a great trip!

Sounds great!

I'm actually looking forward to a week with nothing to do except play with the kids and maybe watch some TV with the wife. I may be able to sleep-in one day:whoopie:

I put in a request for a top floor ocean view and got the usual "we'll note the request but promise nothing."

Hit the beach early in the AM as the brown fog (brackish) water moves in during the afternoon and changes the beautiful clear water into a dark brown color.

If possible you do not want a first floor unit. We had a 1BR a few years ago on the first floor and it was like elephants were above us.
