I donated an exchange that I had into a Disney property to a charity that I do some work with. I added a guest certificate to the exchange with guest. I know it's more than then just them showing up with the II guest certificate. What number to do they call to add all the family members that are staying in the unit? What else needs to be done?

They have to call DVC @ +1 (800) 800-9800 (dial options 1, 4, and 1) this will transfer them to Disney’s II. There they’ll have to request confirmation number and add guests. Be aware they might ask for your name/owner.

I did get the Disney confirmation number. Is there a way to add the guests online or a phone call is required?

I think the reservation is at risk of cancellation if II gets wind of this. Hopefully the guests don’t mention it when calling Disney…. I recognize this is a charity, but isn’t this selling an exchange?

Not in this instance. Charities have different ways to raise funds for events where prizes are given away for attendence at the event.

You have to call to add guest first and then link them on the mydisney experience app.

I was worried about this too. I thought it might fall under the category commercial purposes, which isn't allowed for exchanges/getaways and guest certificates. If it was your owned week it probably wouldn't be an issue.

Charities do...but to my knowledge II doesn't have a charity exception to their rule prohibiting transfer of an II trade. You could donate the week you owned or a DVC reservation you made using your own points but I'm pretty sure donating an exchange is a violation of II's T&Cs.

II T&C only forbids commercial purpose;

From Section 16 of the T&C;
Guest Certificates may only be obtained for personal or noncommercial purposes.

Is a charity auctioning off a week engaged in a commercial purpose? I agree it probably isn't, however that is really nuanced, and I'm not sure how nuanced II/DVC would be if the prospective renter showed up and says "Yeah, I won this II exchange week at an auction, please link it to my disney account." I just think they need to be careful is all.

You need more than just the confirmation number. I believe DVC has to add each guest to the reservation over the phone. Then you can go in and link it all up in the My Disney Experience app or website. I also have different menu options to contact DVC. I will be calling them regarding an upcoming stay and will confirm. It is possible that multiple options will work. I have;
  • Call - 800-800-9800
  • Phone Menu Options - 1, 1, #, #
