Lagunamar is a fairly new resort, yet yesterday a gang came through and replaced all drapes and curtains on our floor with new ones. Today, other workers came through and replaced all mattresses on our floor with new ones. (I wonder where these old 'heavenly beds' are going.) Are Marriott and other up-scale vacation clubs as conscientious about spiffing up their properties?

Not sure this is a downside or upside, but today the air conditioning in all buildings has been off since 8 am for maintenance. 12 hours have now passed, and we hope to see the results shortly.

I agree that it seems odd to need of a complete replacement of drapes so soon after opening. It's possible that they were just sending them off to be laundered, though. They do get really dusty.

Mattresses, on the other hand, should be replaced often IMO, so that's a good sign. Well, unless they were removing them because of bed bugs. :)

I know when WKORV-N first opened, they had queen beds in the studio side which were subsequently replaced with king beds. Unless it was the supplier's fault, that must have been a very expensive replacement so soon after opening.

And last week they swapped all the DVD players for blu ray players (but no online access to blu ray features.)
