You BlueGreen folks don't seem to get it.

Hilton is the "best" vacation ownership company on almost every metric. It is expensive to buy in.
BG is the home of Bass Pro and sells points cheaply.
Hilton will swallow up BG and its owner population will flood into BG locations.
Max gives you only 6 months but even with that priority, it is a better club than BG.
Don't you get it? Do the research. I did for a friend. It's not perfect, nothing is.
Why are you fighting it? The takeover is done! You get a better product!
It's not yet rolled out, but it will be as promised by Hilton, and prices will undoubtably rise.
Not buying Max as a BG owner will not be a good thing. That you can count on.
It's amazing to see the best company in the business buy this small company and offer a much better product
and all people do is complain. I wish Hilton would buy my Wyndham! Progress never stops. To get Hilton for a relatively small purchase is the way to go.
Timeshares are a bad deal all the way around. I have spent a fortune and continue to spend large amounts on yearly maintenance fees. I can never ever in the 10 plus years I have owned been able to get into places where I wanted go. If I took my maintenance fees each year I could go on a really nice vacation.

Timeshare ownership experiences encompass a wide spectrum. Yes, there absolutely are many owners who don't get the kinds of stays they were hoping for and essentially wasted their money. But there are also people who make smart purchasing decisions and do figure out how to leverage those purchases and get great vacations, in some cases saving a decent amount of money over what it would have cost otherwise for those same types of stays paying cash. Personally, I have gotten many stays exactly where I wanted to go, at the exact times I was wanting to go. Other times, I've had to compromise on the exact dates or location, but never to the point of not having an overall good vacation experience. And cost-wise it's worked out very well so far. But again, YMMV based on what you buy and how you go about trying to use it.

@craftylady, you've been making similar one-off comments in multiple BG-related threads after creating a new account yesterday. These forums can:
1) help you get the most out of what you own
or
2) help you dispose of what you own efficiently and effectively as possible

You're clearly not happy, and it might feel cathartic to make these one or two sentence posts in multiple threads. But it seems you are stuck. We can give you more information about either option 1 or 2, but you're going to need to give us more detail about what you own--and how you want to move forward--if you're truly interested in doing something more than just vent.

You are definitely doing something wrong.
Start a few threads on the Bluegreen board and you will get help in learning how to use your BG.
10 years in you should be vacationing like a pro.
Lots of options in the BG system if you learn the booking rules.
Good luck.

Don't mean to be over the top. I just spent days doing the research for our dear friend who owns BG who was confused. Read a lot and spoke to some really smart people. She loves her BG and uses it well and says "I love my BG and I don't want it to change" just like Glynda. After analysis my wife and I agreed that having Max is the right thing for her. I felt like a time share salesman trying to convince her of the merits!
I would love to see this analysis. I am currently a Silver Level Bluegreen Owner with 20,000 points. I do NOT love my Bluegreen Membership. I use it, but I would not say 'well.' I am looking for a rough estimate for an upgrade. Are we talking $5-$10k or more? Did they give you an estimate of the revised annual fees - mine is currently $2,800. Thanks in advance

We recently went to a review and were told Hilton will be buying out Holiday Inn Vacation Club.

Hilton will be buying at holiday in vacation club now? That’s quite the juicy rumor. It seems like the holiday locations overlap quite a bit with the footprint they already have. HGVC really needs some west coast footprint

Does “review” = sales presentation?

Not sure how Hilton Grand Vacations can buy out another named hotel chain. It’s why Hyatt vacations is completely separate from the Marriott brand. They were brought in when Marriott Hitels bought Starwood and the Hyatt vacation club was tied to that. No movement between the two.
