We stayed at the newly opened Springhill Suites outside Yellowstone over the 4th. Used points (cat 4) and a free night voucher for what would have been ~$400 per night (with tax) cash rate (I assume it was at a premium due to the holiday).

Definitely a two thumbs up experience. Beautiful property with a resort feel. Large hot tub as well the typical pool. The river that runs in back of the property was popular for boating and tubing, with rentals located next door. Parking a bit limited. Bag and grab breakfast due to Covid but the selections were decent. Ice machines on each floor which also dispensed filtered water.

I came away saying it was the nicest SHS we have ever stayed at and was told that when Marriott corporate came for the grand opening two weeks prior they had said the same thing.

We used the location as a jumping off spot to tour Yellowstone during the day and had a great visit overall.

Is it in West Yellowstone?
No. It's at Mack's Inn, (Island Park, ID) about 25 miles W. of West. It's where the Henry's Fork crosses Hwy 20.

Thanks for posting the review. Was it busy in Yellowstone?

It was our first visit so nothing to compare to. However the park staff were saying the visitor load was at one quarter of usual. Most of the on site lodging was closed including the iconic Yellowstone Lodge. Some of the parking areas were quite busy but we always lucked out to get a space. NYT had an interesting piece about how it’s a great time to visit right now.

We stayed there in July with a certificate. We had a mountain view room which is code for parking lot. It was so loud until about 2 am that we couldn't get to sleep. There were kids running up and down the halls, and people checking in honking horns and yelling.
