I got my MF bill today in it was a flyer for owners and their family and friends (that's you) to acquire a week for essentially free. You pay $777 MF + $250 transfer fee for a 1 BR or $815 MF + $250 transfer for a 2 BR unit. They didn't say, but I suspect these are floating weeks. This is a nice, 1970's era well maintained complex. 22 miles from the W. entrance of the Park. There was a new pool and office building built a couple years ago. For comparison the new Springhill Suites by Marriott 2 miles further from the park rents for almost $400 a night.

I make nothing from this, but am posting for 'friends'. If you want to list me as a friend to get this deal I am happy to recommend you.

Do floating weeks include summer? 22 miles to the W. entrance. Wow, makes Worldmark W. Yellowstone look better and better.

It just adds ~20 min from the park entrance vs. Worldmark. When visiting a huge park like Yellowstone, that doesn't seem like a very big deal.

Heck, we stayed in Big Sky, MT one year while visiting Yellowstone, and didn't think that was too terrible.

We loved the location of Island Park Village. We do own WM points. I will have to look into staying there sometime in early September, after the kids go back to school.

Regarding WM, I just snagged a week for Sep 2021 (at exactly 6am, otherwise this would not be available, as we know) for a 1 bd for 9,000 credits. I own a small contract (6k annual) so my MF is $0.12 per credit. This is not a bad deal at all if there is reasonable availability? @Passepartout, thanks for offering! How would you say the availability for this resort is?

In past years I recall seeing 'For Rent' signs at the office when we checked in for our week 29. That's late July. It doesn't get more prime Summer than that.

Most floating weeks have an underlying assigned week. we had a 2 bd float (courtesy of a very generous tugger) and was able to convert it to the underlying fixed week - week 34 for $175. There are very few floating weeks available so even if you have a prime summer, you have to book 365 days from when you want. There may only be 2 weeks available for any given week. We are heading there this week using our midseason week...we can usually book labor day with it which we actually prefer because the weather is great and the crowds are generally smaller. You do get discounted exchange fees through trading places and do occasionally trade back in for earlier in the summer. Some of the midseason weeks are still considered red so if you book those, you do not have to pay the season upgrade. I have listed my midseason week in the free timeshare section in the past and anyone that is interested can have it

If we lived within a day's drive, I'd jump on this. If only. I can't imagine ever getting tired of Yellowstone, it's my favorite park after 2 visits. Saying "Been there, done that" would be like saying that about the ocean, IMO.

We are in Jackson hole today...beautiful weather...very warm but not hot.
Jackson is very busy..most restaurants are takeout only.
A little hazy from the fires around.
Check in to island park village tomorrow
