Anyone on here have a year round travel insurance plan? Have you ever filed a claim? How much is it and is the price for a single person or family?
Thanks I have been looking on line and see there are companies that sell this, but I know nothing about them. Thanks!

I was looking into this and it sure looks like it is affordable, especially if you own multiple weeks. One thing that I noticed was that it doesn't cover get-away weeks or extra-vacations. It only covers your home resort use or a week that you get by exchanging your home resort. From their timeshare FAQ's:

10. What about “Bonus time”, “Get-away’s”, and other cash based trips?

This plan applies only to trips where your annual Timeshare usage by points or dues is allocated and used for that trip. Discount trips that you can access via your membership, yet pay for with cash, like Bonus Time, Get-aways, and other cash based trips are not covered. You can affordably cover them with our Leisure Plan.

I'll still probably get a policy.

We have CSA that we purchase through Dial an Exchange. Very affordable. I think maybe around $35 a year and it covers all our vacations. Yes, we have filed claims. We were stranded in the big snowstorm in Pgh 2 years ago in Feb. We spent 2 nights in a motel and lost our first 2 days at our resort in PV. We received compensation for the motels and meals and 2/7ths of our maintenance fee.
This past summer we had 2 weeks on the OBX when the hurricane hit. Our son was using one week (one unit) and we were using the other. We lost 3 days vacation and he lost 2. We received a check for over $500 as compensation. You can't beat this insurance. It also covers medical emergencies and I believe even if one has to be life flighted back to the US. Of course you pay the provider first and then file a claim.

HTH

My wife & I have HTH Worldwide Insurance Services TravelGap Silver. We have not used it, and hope we never have to. I bought it because it seemed to address our travels and concerns re emergencies better than other plans. Cost was $179 for one year. It is not restricted to a single timeshare chain...or even to timeshares at all.
