What do you know, my plan worked! I put in a request for Kona Coast 1 or 2, knowing that deposits there are often made 18 months in advance, and I just got the confirmation for a Friday check-in. Saturday or Sunday would be better, but I'm not tossing the week back. Our second week is on Maui and starts mid week on the 28th. I'll either retrade the Hawaii week for a Saturday or Sunday checkin to narrow the time gap, or just leave well enough alone. I've gotten plenty of good deals for extra nights on Priceline or Hotwire. It's a long way to Hawaii from Western NY, and a few more days away from the snow are welcome. It's nice to have settled plans this far in advance!!!!
I didn't realize that it's Presidents Day week. I guess anyone depositing so early picks the week to deposit that has the best trade power. All I cared about was getting the week preceding my Maui week and I never thought about the holiday. Hopefully airfare won't be multiples higher that week.
