So when did Wyndham Vacation Resorts at Reunion become Club Wyndham Reunion? I noticed it the other day (now someone will say it's been that way for months.

I see they did the same at Panama City and Great Smokies (checking a few others that used to be Wyndham Vacation Resorts). Why the renaming?

Maybe because Wyndham also does vacation rentals and they want to distinguish that the location is part of the timeshare division and not the rental division. They probable also want more people to see the wording "Club Wyndham" as a brand, just like how DVC is different from Walt Disney World.

I noticed in RCI today that it was Club Wyndham Cypress Palms and Club Wyndham Star Island too.

Actually I just checked again in RCI, looks like maybe all the Wyndhams are Club Wyndham now and the two Worldmarks I see listed are also the same too! Club Worldmark

Yes, if you just type Club Wyndham in the search field, it brings up all the Wyndham resorts in alphabetical order by state & resort name. Also, on the points history, it shows everything as Club Wyndham (resort name). I actually think I like it as everything if more uniform. Of course, that’s after looking at it for only 5 minutes.

Could be that they just wanted to move up in the alphabetical listings in RCI, since the interface there is a bit awkward to scroll through when you have to keep paging through 10 resorts at a time. Wyndham always seemed to be on the last page, which typically made them easy to find if you were looking for them by going to reverse alphabetical order, but that only gets folks that are specifically looking for them....

I did take the time to try and figure it out yet, but I wonder if some of the odd ones that were never with the other Wyndham listings like Shawnee & Smugglers Notch will show up as Club Wyndham now too? Or if those will stay in the “S”instead.

Makes sense. I log in to MyClubWyndham.com. Wyndham Destinations runs Club Wyndham resorts.
Differentiation from Wyndham Hotels which has a lot of crappy flea-bitten motel brands under its wings.
I don't even care if they drop the Wyndham name and call themselves ClubElysium! Actually, the one in Rio Mar, PR does look like Elysium amidst the dumps. :)
Remember, these are the same guys who coined the name Worldmark for something that doesn't make the mark.
I am wondering if I should have bought Disney or Marriott or Hilton instead or NOTHING and spared myself the needless pain of learning the ropes and trying to set up a perpetual trust to protect the 'investments' I probably should never have made!

TUGBBS is a double-edged sword. I had a good impression of Wyndham and felt good about what I owned. After 2 months here, all that goodwill has dissipated thanks to all the negative stories about their sales tactics and poor execution of their mysterious corporate strategy. Even Gilligan's bumblings that kept the castaways from leaving the uncharted island look smart in comparison.

Why do they not announce upcoming changes before they make them? It seems to me they're not communicating effectively to keep their customers informed. They're failing on very basic stuff. Hubris?

I looked thru RCI some more, there are still several resorts that are just Wydnham and just Worldmark, so not everything has moved over to the "Club" designation (yet?). Having half of them come up as C and half as W and than some other like Smugglers Notch and Shawnee is really not ideal. Would be nice if they picked one naming convention for all of them! and I dont even care which one?!

Some resorts have multiple different affiliations. So that may mean that a resort could have some rooms associated with club wyndham and other rooms associated with a different TS company.. This may explain why RCI isn't using the "Club" naming convention on all the resorts.

Remember, these are the same guys who coined the name Worldmark for something that doesn't make the mark.

What is your complaint about Worldmark? Worldmark was originally designed for the Middle Class. It was not suppose to be a Hilton or Marriott. Worldmark was around before Wyndham. The original name was Club Espirit. Had to change the name because of a Copy Right Issue. The Developer before Wyndham was Trendwest. Wyndham use to be known as Cedent. Wyndham is ruining Worldmark with all the Presidential Condos and Penthouse Condos.

CENDANT was the parent company from which Wyndham Worldwide was spun off. Avis-Budget Group is the last remnant from Cendant Corp.
Wyndham is ruining Worldmark by going slightly more upscale? Okay...

Wyndham started out as Fairfield. It was purchased by Cendant Corp, but kept the Fairfield name. Wyndham purchased Cendant Corp or maybe the other way around. Anyways the name was changed to Wyndham Vacation Resorts.

No, Cendant Corp was the big daddy which like PacMan gobbled up many other entities. They had a big accounting scandal. Long story short, Wyndham Worldwide was one of the spin-offs.

Didn't Cendant have an ENRON type issue? I know it was a long time ago.

Regular 2 Bedroom Seaside Oregon 10,000 Points for a Week. 1 Bedroom Presidential Portland Oregon 24,000 Points for a week. Remember Worldmark was intended to be Middle Class.

The 1 and 2 bedroom Presidential units at WM Portland are very, Very popular and in-demand with WM owners.

Much easier to get into a regular 1 or 2 bedroom at WM Seaside at lower credit costs. Anyone can see it on the availability calendar.

WorldMark owners must have gone upscale, or there are just more upscale WM owners.

Just curious, are the resorts that are now club Wyndham, those that are part of the access collection? Went to an owners update, I know it’s a waste of time, but room wasn’t ready and it was raining, and the agent was talking about a new structure, etc, didn’t listen to half of it. Especially after she tried to tell me that I could book direct Disney Vacation club thru Wyndham, not RCI. I laughed in her face and said I was a Disney member and no way in h... you can do that! Walked at that point.

It was a common occurence in a results driven investment world . It was their book and re book.

If you’re a Presidential Reserve owner purchased from Wyndham you can book a DVC Vacation through the Registry Collection
So it is true that a Wyndham PR owner can book a Disney vacation without going through RCI

Anything is possible but at what cost. You also can also use Wyndham points for airfare, cruises and paying maintenance fees.

... no more than anyone else in Registry; which is kind of like a high end RCI IMHO since it’s commonly owned by Wyndham and puts excess inventory into RCI Platinum. I would still give the salesman 3-4 Pinocchios....
