Wyndham Use Year Alignment

I have 154,000 points at Margaritaville. The expiration date was 3/31/2021. Now they combined this with my 12/31/2021 points. I feel like I just lost 9 months of value from my ownership. Seems to me that they should let me have 154K expiring 3/31/21 PLUS another 154K expiring 12/31/21.

Is this the correct and normal way to handle use year alignment? Or should I call to complain? Thanks.

And again, I repeat by asking what happened to the points that were set to expire on 3/31/20? You should have received your 2020 points on 4/1/2019. Where are those points?

So the points that expire on 3/31/2021 are your 2021 points. So changing them to 12/31/2021 really just kept them as the same use year.

If you didn't know, Wyndham counts a use year on the last day of the use year as opposed to on the first day of the use year. Does it makes sense? No.

The way I read the contract, Annual Fee is due in advance in its entirety. Monthly payment via Autopay is just a convenience extended to us.
My PIC weeks allow payment in 2 installments just like property taxes. They do offer monthly autopay but I haven't found out if there's any convenience fee.
I pay my AAA Insurance annually. They do offer installment plans with a convenience fee.

So viewing MF as a monthly item is a figment of our imagination. See, I found a way to rationalize the extra MF that has been swindled out of me!;)

That's how a Fiscal year has always been called when it doesn't coincide with a calendar year! Perfectly normal! That's how EVERYBODY does it!

My understanding is that converted fixed weeks are paid in advance in its entirety. UDI and CWA are paid for the current calendar year in installments.

They way it should work on a April 1st use year start. The deed shows up 12/16/2019. All points available are 2020 use year points and they should expire 3/2020 but on a use year alignment Wyndham extends the expiration on these points to 12/2020.The 2021 points should have renewed on 4/2020 but get pushed into a new start date of 1/2021. Bottom line @A.Win is going to pay 9 months of maintenance fees on points that got pushed into 2021. This is because of a non prorating of points and clearly is to Wyndham's advantage.IMHO

@dgalati I wonder if both you and I are on Wyndham's crap list.

The contract I excerpted from is my 84k WBC UDI contract!

All I know is if I want to be an Owner, I should buy Wyndham Destinations on a dip. Seems like they respond better to their share holder Owners than timeshare owners.

Hey, and it comes with a 3+% dividend too!

Say, next Wyndham presentation, I am going to agree with the sales staff and tell them I will be an owner alright...

Yes! There is a PNG table in their database! You're shadow-banned as on Twitter! You won't even know you got a timeout so you can complain about it!:D

*PNG = Persona Non Grata
I will get the details of this Table and edit this post! Stay Tuned! You will be shocked and awed!:D

I had posted this on 12/8 on a thread nobody cared about!:( Did anyone go for the dividend play?

Anyone buying WYND for the dividend?

I missed out on this! Ex-Div plus gains!

Letting “I dare not” wait upon “I would”,
Like the poor cat in the adage?

Ok, now we're officially on a tangent! Freddie did it!;)

tschwa2,
I had this happen to me wrt Flagstaff FW which was in the process of conversion to Points. I received the Annual dues bill from Flagstaff HOA and I was going to pay them. I didn't know how things worked then. I just decided to call Sedona QA to better understand the process. She told me not to pay the bill. Wyndham will take care of it. I just have to pay Wyndham monthly along with program fees.

I don't like the idea of learning the details of a process as it's unfolding. Wyndham could do better to demystify the process by disclosing all the detailed steps!

I agree. Why not make the Owners entitlements simple, transparent and clear?I find the jargon makes the points systems complex, blurry and unclear.

Kinky!;)

What's up with 'Counting Right on Birthday Date!'. Didn't get that!

Totally un-PC! Where's my safe space!:D
You get hit by the number of your age on your birthday.

The points that expire on 3/31/2020 have been received and used. There is no issue there. The problem is that I was to receive more points expiring 3/31/21 and 3/31/22. But now those points are pushed back 9 months. Meanwhile, my MFs are being paid each and every month.

Unfortunately Wyndham has used the use year alignment and non proration to their advantage.
