Hi Everyone,

New to this site and finding lots of information useful. I found the site because we are getting annoyed at all the changes year after year Wyndham is making. We are Club Wyndham owners for 15 years. We bought when Wyndham was still Fairfield and bought at Wyndham Waikiki Beach when it was still being developed.
Anyway, for a few years now, we noticed on top of our MF we are required to pay housekeeping fees and transaction fees. Then, a lot of the Wyndham resorts that we use to be able to access and see their availability are now Worldmark. Being Worldmark, we have to contact a a club pass resort to find availability and if found, we need to pay an additional $99 to reserve at that Worldmark resort.

When we bought, we were told that our points would be equivalent to 2 weeks of vacation days which was true for maybe 8 years. Now it seems that our point value has diminished to maybe equivalent to one week only. With the yearly MF and additional fees sometimes going out to reserve thru airbnb or directly to the hotels are cheaper. This is not what we originally signed up for and is there a rule that Wyndham can change what we originally signed up for. Trying to dig out our contract 15 years ago but we might have lost it. Anyway, any advice on how to make our timeshare use to the way we had it before would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

If it was true 8 years ago, you can still reserve 2 weeks in the resorts that were available to you 8 years ago. The points costs at each resort do not change.

New resorts generally cost more points per week. If you want 2 weeks of vacation with your points, do not go to the new resorts; book the resorts that were available to you 8 years ago.

Welcome to TUG!

Yes, Wyndham keeps changing the rules (and the website) and a lot of folks aren't thrilled... including me.

We bought Wyndham (Fairfield) back in the late 90s and were huge fans. We made it to VIP Silver before discovering - and acquiring - more affordable resale contracts. Over the past 10 years or so I've also acquired a number of fixed weeks and RCI Points contracts (also resale), initially to use in areas Wyndham didn't have resorts. Over time we found ourselves using the fixed weeks and RCI exchanges more than Wyndham; and the majority of our Wyndham points were being used to book reservations for others.

I do appreciate that Wyndham has expanded and they now have resorts in more locations, but the point costs in these locations are way too high, making them less desirable to me.

Earlier this year I decided I wanted to get off the Wyndham Rollercoaster. The constant website "upgrades" were too much for me and I was wasting way too much time trying to find reservations for other people. My sister also had a Wyndham account... all resale. Since she still loves and uses Wyndham, I offered her my VIP account (rather than give it back to Wyndham)... she accepted and gave her resale contracts back to Wyndham.

Everybody's happy (for now.)
