We were there in February in a two BR unit. We stayed in Building #18 which has been newly renovated. I recommend it.

I'd recommend bld 22-24 - within walking distance of the activities center. IDK if they'd been renovated recently, but were nice a few weeks ago. I hope to have up my video review next week at the latest.

The property is split in 2 by Collier Drive. Buildings 20-30 are on the West side of the property and up on a hill, mostly, but buildings 20-21 are very low, and have no good views except maybe on one of the top floors. I've never stayed in those buildings before. On that same side of the road, buildings 28, 29 and 30 are the next highest, but still fairly low. Some rooms on some floors have passable views. The last 2 times i've stayed there I have been in building 29 on third floor, and had barely any view. This side of the property is called "Governors Crossing"

Buildings 25, 26, 27 have the best views, they are at the highest part of the property and have Eastern views. Building 24 can be fine too if you get a room on an upper floor. Building 23 is completely hit or miss, Building 22 faces West so you will not have mountain views at all. But it's right next to the activity center if that interests you.

Buildings 1-19 are all on the East side of the property (where you check in), and all the lowest and to my knowledge no units on that side have any mountain views, because they are blocked by a mountain/hill behind the property. These are also the oldest units, but many have been refurbished. I stayed in building 5 in March 2020 right when the resorts were getting shut down. They were completely remodeling Building 4 next door while I was there, and they were simulatneously working on some other buildings. This side of the property tends to be quieter, if that's a consolation... This side of the property is called "Smokey Crossing or Smokey Cross"

I've stayed here probably 11-12 times, stayed in buildings 24 (3 times), 25 (twice), 26, 29 (twice), 30, 5 and I think 16. I always request to stay on the Governors Crossing side, and specifically request buildings 25-26. But you get what you get. I would not personally want to be in building 22-23 because they are right next to the Elkmont activity center and lots of noise and foot traffic. But you may like that if you have kids you can be right there.

Unless you want solitude and isolation, to me buildings 20-21 are the least appealing. They are far from all amenities and offer no view from what I can tell. I've never stayed in one of those buildings. All of the buildings on the Smokey Cross side are at least pretty equidistant to the resort emenities at the other Activity Center.

Wow
That’s very detailed
I truly appreciate it very very much
Any experience with shows, Dollywood, dining, local grocery store?

Dollywood is fine, been a time or two. The Hatfield and McCoys show is fun. It exceeded expectations actually. Food was decent too.

The Titanic Museum is another one worth going to.

There's a Super Walmart about a mile away from the resort, and a Publix about 5 miles away.

Me and my wife love "The Local Goat" restaurant and Bullfish Grille.

We used to love to go hiking in the National Park, but my wife had a hip injury a couple years ago and is now pretty limited in her mobility so that's not something we do anymore. If you are into wide or booze there's lots of wineries and distilleries in the area, especially in Gatlinburg. We end up going here pretty often, in fact I had a room booked for Memorial Day week but had to cancel it this week because something came up.

Memorial day week is good for bears at Cades Cove, one time we saw over 20. Between Mid April and May is good for bears. Every other time is a complete crap shoot. Was there last July 4th weekend and saw zero. Also Winter you won't see any. Like November through end of March.

We are going in early November on our way up to Branson for thanksgiving through Christmas

We were in Branson last year to see the Christmas shows. We really enjoyed them. The day after Thanksgiving attendance at the shows increases, a lot. Plan accordingly so you get decent seats. Also you'll need to give yourself extra time to get to the shows.

Thanks
So far we have booked
Sight and sound, my personal favorite
The Hughes Brothers Xmas show, the one with all the kids
The Baldjnobbers
And
The Showboat Belle
Plus Silver Dollar City passes
Any other suggestions?

I was in Branson for a few days the week before Christmas this year and we did the Polar Express train ride. It was fun. The town was pretty empty. If you are a VIP, look to cancel and re-book. I was able to book a Studio and instant upgrade to a 3BR Deluxe at Mountain Vista. I cancelled and rebooked 3 times for this stay. Got a 2BR Deluxe which I needed but wanted to see if I could get to a 3BR. Just kept checking to see if a 3BR would pop up and it finally did and jumped on it.

The couple weeks around and after Christmas is low season there and everything there in Wyndham is value season points. It's really good deals.

No "e" in Smoky.

If he's in town, Reza is really fun.
