Can someone explain if every owner is eligible to be a wyndham rewards member and it be linked to a wyndham rewards barclay card? Also, is the barclay card and wyndham rewards worth using? TIA

For us, the Barclay Wyndham card is a wasted card. We shredded it long ago. We use the Chase Sapphire Reserve card for all of our maintenance fees, most of which get 3X points. $1,000 in MF fees is 3000 points, which is about $60 in SW airfare. Through the portal, it's worth about $45.

Do you put everything on it or do you just do the categories that get 3x points?

We use the rewards part, not the credit card. We book our nightly rooms using wyndham rewards, getting points. You can use i think 10k rewards for 60 bucks of your maintenance fees. Or giftcards, etc

We had a Wyndham Rewards account for several years before deciding to get the Barclay card too. This became complicated as the Barclay card came with a Wyndham Rewards number on it and it wasn't the same number as the one we already had. They were not able to combine the accounts, so we had to just use up the points in the first account while growing more points in the new one.

So, anyone can apply for a Wyndham Rewards account. There's usually an application on the front desk at any Wyndham related motel or do it online. https://www.wyndhamrewards.com

We don't have a card hooked up to autopay our maintenance fees, but if we did, it would be our Capital One Vantage card. I only use the Barkley card once or twice a year so they don't cancel it for disuse.

Can you tell me if you get 3x points on the timeshare monthly fees? Also, do you know what other purchases get 3x points -everyday type purchases that might fall under travel? We could not find an all inclusive list. Thank you

I went to an update about that very question. It was when the new fee card came out. All they did was try to sell you it. Must of had contest or something, right!

I just paid my MF with the Chase Sapphire Reserve. It was coded as travel so I did earn the 3x points plus it counted as the $300 that gets reimbursed for the year.
