Wyndham Resort at Avon or Park City

We are planning a ski trip for January/February next year.

Which do you prefer? Wyndham resort at Avon or Park city?

I have been to both places before but not for skiing.

Would like to know which you like best and why.

You aren’t going to go wrong in either place - experience wise. There is a small gondola outside the door at Park City that takes you right up to the main plaza on the Canyons side. Park City is now the largest ski area in the US.

in Avon, it’s a short walk to the gondola which takes you to Beaver Landing. Beaver Creek is a very high end resort.

Both Beaver Creek and Park City are run by Vail so both are well maintained and groomed. Both are large with skiing for all abilities.

A plus for Avon is that you can also use your Epic Pass at Vail, Breckenridge and Keystone with easy drives.

As far as the properties go both are very nice.

I have been to both places before but not for skiing.

I have been to both places for skiing but have not stayed at the Wyndham resorts. Both Wyndham resorts have equally convenient locations for skiing. I would prefer to go to Beaver Creek but I go to Park City more often as it's easy to get to from SLC airport. Beaver Creek is less convenient to get to so crowds are lower. Week 52 at Beaver Creek was less crowded than a regular February weekend at Park City. The facilities at Beaver Creek are much nicer than Park City.

Great feedback! Thanks guys. We decided for Avon CO. We will be staying at the Wyndham Resort at Avon. Really excited about our trip. Hopefully things will be good by then and we will be able to go on our trip and enjoy it.
We will be there the last week of January.

We stayed at the Wyndham Avon for 3+ months when they first opened in 2015. We had a 3 bedroom presidential with these ginormous picture windows that looked out towards the ski hill. I’ve been personally vacationing in the town of Avon since I was 9 years old. My father owned at the Christie Lodge. When Wyndham opened up, we were so excited. The hot tub is incredible and they have a small gym, but the best amenity is the ski storage/store on site. I suggest taking advantage of that. They had our skis ready to go when we were headed out to ski and we could drop them off as soon as we got back. The gondola is right across the street (leaving from the Weston- which has a nice spa, too). However, there’s also a free bus shuttle that’ll take you up to the main ski area and we usually used that. Avon is great because you can walk to restaurants and bars, they have a nice grocery store and a Walmart in case you forget anything. Our favorite place to eat is Pazzos! Fantastic pizza! If you want to try other activities, I suggest the Avon Rec Center- they have an awesome lazy river, waterslide, and splash zone and sledding at the park by the center is fabulous. Have fun!
