I now own more Wyndham points than I can personally use. I have family and friends who want vacations. But I now need to get serious about renting Wyndham locations.

I’ve gone through the sticky’s and have the basics down.

I am looking for any suggestions for an easier way to rent than picking a week, reserving it and advertising on Tug/RedWeek/Craigslist?

Like is there anyone out there that would take on renting for a share of the profit?

All insight appreciated as I have a large amount of points to work with.

Thanks

I don't know how much you consider to be your points to cost ratio- are you just considering your MF or are you paying on a mortgage or trying to recoup what you paid. I doubt there is enough share of the profit for you and someone managing your account. How many points to you have and how many do you use? Are you VIP of any kind?

I am Gold, soon to be Platinum, VIP.

No loan so my cost is really just the MF.

I own a lot of different property so the MF probably come out to between $0.06 and $0.07 per point. If I was sure to get $0.07 for a bundle of points I would be happy.

1. Your second statement is correct if someone else is using your points but not if you're using them yourself for rentals.

2. No need to guess about the $/1,000 points for maintenance fees. Log in, go to My Ownership, click on the Financial Info tab, then click on the appropriate Assessment Summary. It's all there in its gory detail.

1 agreed $7 only makes sense if someone else is doing the work. I just need to find that person to make life easier.

2 $5.50 is my best and $7.25 my worst. I know I could add them all up but wouldn’t it be nice if Wyndham told you your actual average overall.

Thanks

Wyndham DOES do that -- all except the final step of dividing the annual total of your maintenance fees by the number of thousand points you have.

And adding up the points owned unless I am missing something (I have all 4 use year possibilities).

It's still just arithmetic -- advanced adding, let's call it.

Consider yourself fortunate that your use years haven't been re-aligned yet.

I hear that is a nightmare with Wyndham always winning. I'm hoping they leave me alone for re-allignment.

No it was part of a direct purchase deal from a few months ago. I became Gold with a small purchase and 2 PIC weeks and will become Platinum once they Convert a fixed week. Very reasonable cost considering the benefits but crazy expensive for the one small contract compared to resale.

I sent grab a pm about my current situation but, thought that experienced tuggers could maybe help us.

I would like to go to one of the properties in Australia in Port Douglas. How can the two of us make this work?

I just looked at my Club Wyndham RCI exchange portal. The only property I see
even close to Port Douglas is Mantra Amphora (#7579) in Palm Cove.

Here's the current brief description and availability dates: (can anyone else see anything else?)

There are three resorts in the RCI directory for Port Douglas, but none show any current availability. An ongoing search would be the best way to catch them if they have any deposits, but I have no idea if that’s likely to happen or not.

Just curious wht you spent more money to upgrade to platinum if you already have too many points?
Also, FYI your not supposed to rent RCI exchanges

Not looking to rent RCI points, I am looking for someone to help me rent Wyndham Vacations with my extra points!

You probably think it was crazy to spend more to get to Platinum but I thought it made sense as it only cost an extra $189 and now I get bigger discounts and more time to use benefits! To me it’s worth it!!!

I believe the OP meant $189 to have RCI platinum. Yes you are correct it is much more expensive than $189 to reach Wyndham platinum.

To go from Gold to Platinum VIP it cost $189 in my case. It was related to a conversion of a free timeshare from eBay.

Out of curiosity -- how is it that you were able to use non-developer purchased points to count toward VIP status? I thought that was a firm 'NO' from a Wyndham perspective?!

Wyndham allows it for PIC and Conversions when you but something else direct. In my case I bought 105k points a couple months ago with written agreement to add 2 PIC and 1 conversion (cost of $189). This made me Platinum!

Are you converting a Wyndham fixed week contract into Wyndham points somehow? How did you obtain ownership of the Wyndham fixed week contract? What does the $189.00 cost consist of exactly? I'm permanent VIP gold, temp VIP platinum thru Sept 2020, and am curious if there's an option here I was unaware of obtaining and then converting a Wyndham fixed week contract somehow...or are you referring to PIC Plus conversion?
