Does anyone know if I need to do anything special to get my RCI account set up? The initial "packet" I received from Wyndham did not even mention the RCI account. I don't need anything from it or to make deposits, I am just looking to explore the site and maybe look at the Last Call (I think, the cash ressies).

Have your contract number available. Call the Wyndham/RCI number (the Wyndham Reservations people can transfer you if you do not have the number. They can then set up you account.

I think you can access RCI from the portal on the Wyndham website. Or you can call RCI, and they can look up the account number so you can get a login to the RCI website.

Actually I am not 100% sure about that last part. I had an RCI account before I got Wyndham, and then they merged my initial account with my Wyndham account - basically I kept my login and account #, and Wyndham pays the bill. I can deposit my other units in there. But I don't see any reasin why you couldn't login on the RCI website if you had the account #.

IT took wyndham quite a while after my deed was transferred to set up my RCI account. I had to call a couple of times. Seems like maybe a couple of months after was the timeframe.

Yes, you need to request that the RCI account be set up. It does not happen automatically. There is supposed to be a form enclosed in the packet of info you receive, but I did not get that form either.

I believe the Wyndham/RCI folks can start the process to set up the account as others suggested, but I had zero luck with them. I did not get any movement on my RCI account until I went to the Wyndham owners site and sent them some "candid" feedback about the service I was getting. As a result of that Internet feedback, I was contacted by their Quality Assurance folks who finally resolved the problem. Even with them working on it, it was a long, SLOW process.

It took me several years of them passing the buck on setting up the RCI account. I would go to the resort Updates and whined repeatedly about "where was my RCI account? I don't want to talk about buying points when you can't get me my RCI account". Then I would collect their $100 gift card.

I never got the form or requested it, but when I checked today mine was active. I got my points transferred into my name in early December.

How To Get Your Wyndham/RCI Account Set-up!

William W.,

You can call Wyndham at 1-800-251-8736 during their business hours and let them know that you are a new owner and want to get your Wyndham/RCI account set-up. They should help you establish the account and answer any questions about access to the Wyndham/RCI portal.

Having said that, it may be easier to go through RCI to get things rolling quicker because Wyndham can be rather slow in responding to incoming calls. If you decide to go through RCI use the Wyndham/RCI direct number:

1-800-572-0931

When the RCI Guide answers tell them that you are a new Wyndham Owner and would like to get their help in setting up your Wyndham/RCI account which is paid for through your Wyndham Fairshare Plus Fees. That Guide should be able to immediately connect you to his or her counterpart at Wyndham and that individual can get you up and running.
