Wyndham/RCI - Non deposit of points but reservation created

I'm a little concerned about a reservation I made this year through RCI at Mont Tremblant in Canada. I created the reservation although I didn't have points deposited from Wyndham to RCI. I paid the fee ($199 discounted) plus a points protection fee. I was concerned about how the points would be handled since I hadn't deposited them so I called Wyndham who told me to call RCI. RCI assured me that the points would be moved automagically from my Wyndham account to RCI.

I've used RCI only a handful of times during my 14 years of Wyndham ownership and was hoping someone could confirm what I was told by RCI. TY!

I am going through the same thing with my two weeks at Hilton Kings'Land for 2025. No points have been taken out of my Wyndham account. It's been several weeks, and nothing showing as taken out of Wyndham. But I do see the confirmations in RCI. Kind of strange.

Yes, this is a recent change. It used to be a VIP benefit, but now applies to everyone. I am sure that the process is not quite bulletproof.

Wait, does Wyndham now let you book + deposit at once like HGVC? I thought you always had to deposit, wait 24 hours, then book in RCI?

I wonder if a VIP who already had this feature and has used it could share how long it usually takes for RCI to pull the points from Wyndham (or Wyndham to push the points to RCI) after confirming an exchange?

Yes within the last 2 months wyndham changed so you no longer have to predeposit in order to use your wyndham points in rci. If you log onto wyndham and go to the portal for rci and then click on account, it will show you a separate bucket for points you have already deposited and then show you what you have available through wyndham that you can book without predepositing. In my case I have 8000 leftover deposited points and for my 2025 use year, I have 51,000 unreserved available wyndham points, still in my wyndham account, and it shows that I could use a total of 59,000 to book something through rci today through the end of my 2025 use year.
