The obvious answer to this question is to by Developer Points. Just want to hear some strategies on how I can quickly acquire a Pts membership as fast as possible without buying Developer Points or doing an conversion from my fixed week.

Any suggestions or brokers that you have worked with that have been able to quickly close a deal. Or what I can expect in terms of the amount of time from closing to ownership, and/or any tips on how I accelerate the process.

My fastest closing was with ANGEL ENGLAND at 1-800-844-8404.

If you're thinking about buying more points in the Wyndham program you should watch this video first: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W7qELwa0Ius

I have seen that video and am aware of the changes that Wyndham has made to cripple the business practices of those individuals who built a business to "rent" out timeshares enjoyed. I understand that they did so to eliminate the competitors to Extra Holidays.

However those same moves also make it more benefical to be a owner that intends to actually use the timeshare. So in my position, the increased guest certificates charge is not an impairment. Closing the loophole on buying last minute points from Wyndham at a reduced rate, and then cancelling the reservation to be able to use those points for more then 60 days - not a problem.

I am trying to get on the side that will benefit from the increased costs to the rental market. I do this on the expectation that these changes will result in increased availablity for owners as the renters get priced out of the last minute market. I also expect those mega-renters to start to dump points for transfer on e-bay before the Mar.31 change date. I think you already can see that trend - though the prices are a little high right now.

So, anyone have any tips on how to quickly close an e-bay purchase for membership? I would like to get this done, before the Mar.31 change date so I can buy some points and load up the account.

The sticking point is Wyndham deeding/titling, so I don't know how possible it's going to be to close in time. Any of the reputable resellers would be a good bet: Angel has already been mentioned. Tom Cornelius might be able to help you out as well---I've used him in the past, and was pleased.

Op is buying to use, so maybe the end of year 2009 will be better. With bad economic, it is hard to say the risk reward at this time.

By the way, if EH get the inventory as most people worry about, I would think the owner will get the same % of inventories any way, and if economic really bad, you will see higher MF.
