Need help about this program. We bought into Wyndham after they purchased RCI to be able to bring our two RCI properties into Wyndham, and come in with a VIP status in Wyndham. After a recent update meeting while on vacation, we were told that Wyndham is looking at all of the "RCI" locations and deciding if they want to continue to let those be converted to points and brought into the Wyndham points. One of our properties isn't real great, but brings lots of points. We were told that this property may "drop-off" and Wyndham will not give us the points for it. I was also told that without these points we would not be able to retain our VIP status. It was my understanding that once a VIP always one. Of course, we were told that is not the case. Naturally, we could solve this issue by giving them more money and they would "guarantee" that our potential "drop-off" would never drop off. My question is can they do this when we brought this property in when we joined Wyndham. They are telling us we are receiving "$38,000" worth of points each year in return for a property that they have trouble renting. Thanks.

They would be able to do it only if the property was so bad that they were dropped from RCI completely. The Wyndham sales people would have no knowledge if this would happen. It is very rare. I certainly wouldn't buy anything else from them now on the small possibility that something like that might happen.

Sales are always going to find something wrong with your account that buying more points will supposedly fix.

Relax ... if the salesman's lips were moving as he told you this ... he was likely totally full of bull-crap, too.

Wyndham does NOT rent out the PIC weeks when deposited trading in for Wyndham points. Wyndham uses them as deposits into RCI instead of Wyndham units when a Wyndham points owner asks to deposit points to get an exchange thru RCI.
