Wyndham Points for Interval International

I see on the Wyndham website once you log in there is an option for Interval International. You can request a deposit to II. I can't find any info on this in the directory and when I search on here I don't find anything that relates to Wyndham Points.

Is there a site or link to something you may know of that can help me understand using Wyndham points for II?

I didn't know there was any other timeshare group besides RCI that you can use your Wyndham points with. I see they have a website where you can see what resorts they have but is there any way to see how many points their resorts take without actually making a deposit?

Any info is appreciated.

There are a few Wyndham resorts that are or were affiliated with II. If your first Wyndham purchase was at one of those resorts, then your Wyndham account would include a membership in II and not RCI. There have been many posts saying that Wyndham is phasing out II trading completely and that all new owners will get an RCI account. If your Wyndham account includes an RCI membership, then you cannot deposit your points with II.

AH OK. I do have an RCI account and as far as I know DO NOT have a II account.

Thanks for the info.

I.I. URGENT "letter"

I am a Wyndham Star Island owner. Trade through I.I. I never used it, actually. Never had a need to. Just found this site and started trying to learn about trading. Then BAM! I get a letter saying Wyndham was automatically transferring everyone to RCI. However.. I have the right to Keep I.I. Sign and return. I am thinking it doesn't matter to me either way, but I hate for companies to make decisions for me. I got on here and see nothing about anyone else getting these letters. I was thinking of buying a RESALE timeshare with a RCI membership, but after some research I am guessing you can't have both?? Anyhow.. Does anyone have any pros and cons? I know its hard to get people to agree on different philosophies (especially since I have 4 kids and we cant agree on where the Heck to eat!)

oops

OH WAIT! By renewing I get a "RESORT ACCOMODATIONS CERTIFICATE" every time I receive a confirmed exchange. Whatever that is.. I really need to study this stuff a little more, I guess!

There have been many discussions over the years about the advantages of RCI vs. II trading. A lot depends on to where you want to exchange - does that area or areas have good representation in one system or the other?

Here is a recent thread where II members discuss the letters: http://tugbbs.com/forums/showthread.php?t=206019

Here is a current thread where II and RCI traders discuss a recent Wyndham change that seems to restore some of II's previous attractiveness: http://tugbbs.com/forums/showthread.php?t=213476

I wonder if (hope that) Wyndham deposits may become more valuable as the number of Wyndham/II traders dwindles.

Wyndham told me on the phone that we will never be able to switch to RCI again if we stay with II now. I don't believe it because it will always be in Wyndham's interest for us to switch. I decided to stay with II and I believe that if I want to switch to RCI in the future I will be able. You might want to stay in II for now.

Thanks and sorry I posted this on yours, but I haven't seen a button to start a post. I better read "posting for dummies book" :-( Haha.

It wasn't my thread and, in any case, your post wasn't far off topic. There are "New Thread" buttons at the top and bottom left corners of each forum. Good luck with your decision. If you decide to stay with II and have questions about Wyndham/II trading let us know.

By the way, you might consider becoming a TUG member. You could access the TUG reviews which would allow you to see what members think about various resorts in II and RCI.

Your exchange company is determined when you first become a member (generally determined by which system your first resort is affiliated with), and will "forever" be your official trade option for that account, no matter how many contracts you buy or sell in that account.

If you want to go for II, you have to buy a Wyndham II resort (some TUGers can help you determine which these are), and keep that as a completely separate account from the one you have now. You can add more contracts to it later. Will recent developments regarding Wyndham's push to convert current II owners to RCI affect this? It is very possible, but I don't know for sure.

II has some nice high end resorts via Marriott and Starwood, and its fees seem to be less than RCI. They also have 2-for-1 exchanges, so it can be a very good alternative to RCI. It just might not be worth the hassle if one is already assigned RCI.

See above post, which I was going to multi-quote with yours.

In your case, swap II and RCI in the discussion as follows:

If you want to go for RCI but keep your II, you have to buy a Wyndham RCI resort (almost every Wyndham is, though exceptions remain), and keep that as a completely separate account from the one you have now. You'd have to choose with which account to add future contract purchases. YMMV.

This will not work if there is truth in several reports over the last couple of years posted by new owners saying that they received RCI accounts even though they purchased at traditionally II Wyndham resorts.

And vary it will!
