Wyndham owner transfers paused?

Hi!

I purchased resale in march and I’m still waiting for Wyndham to send the final paperwork for me to sign. The transfer was approved to move forward in April, but last month I was told by the company handling it that Wyndham has paused owner transfers for a system update until this month. I was wondering if anyone knew if Wyndham was still on owner pause or if I should call and what I would say? I know it’ll take a little bit but I was right at my 90 days they said for that paperwork when they paused.

Thanks!

You don't really get any paperwork to sign in a resale. The buyer doesn't have to sign anything. It takes up to six months for Wyndham to transfer a timeshare. You will get a letter in the mail after the transfer occurs.

They said it’s a docu sign just agreeing to take it over or something? And then it takes another 60 days for that to go through?

Nope. I gave away about 15 resale contracts. The buyer (taker of the free contracts) never had to sign a thing.

What company is handling this transfer? The seller has to sign and have their signature notarized. Someone has to pay $399 transfer fee.

What did you buy?

I used switch it office, the owner is paying the transfer fee. I got a 189,000 point package cwa. I sent the closing officer an email, but also the original person I was dealing with. Since it’s the weekend I probably won’t hear back until tomorrow. They’ve been great at communicating so far.

CWA might be a different closing process, since there is no deed. @dioxide45 may be able to shed some light.

CWA - send in the xfer to Wyndham. Wait 10-16 weeks, Wyndham sends a docusign to each current owner and each new owner. In series - one after the other. Then you wait another 10-16 weeks for Wyndham to process the xfer. I had a couple CWA xfer earlier this year. I have a deeded xfer in process and called about 10 days ago, the agent did not mention a "pause".

It was only until August so I’m assuming the pause is over. That’s what they were saying that we all have to sign it one after the other. We got the approval to move forward from Wyndham in April. So then the docusign should be on its way soon then hopefully.

I just got an email from the person I was originally in contact with. I guess the closing officer is working with the seller to get them to sign the paperwork so it can be sent to us for ours. So I’m hoping they sign it soon so we can keep the process moving.
