Has anyone stayed at either The Village and/or Baypoint in Wyndham Ocean Ridge? I am booked into The Village 2 BR lockoff but have a chance to upgrade. Would 2 BR deluxe in The Village be an upgrade to the lockoff? I have never stayed in a lockoff before. Also, It seems that people really like Baypoint based on reviews. Would that be a better choice?
Thanks

I have stayed at both the Village and at Baypoint. I would not consider the 2 BR deluxe to be an upgrade over the 2 BR lockoff. The 2 BD lockoff is two spate units (1 BR deluxe and a 1 BR unit with mini kitchen) that are connected by a connecting doorway that can be lockoff to make two units. It should sleep 8 with the 2 BR and two foldout couches. The 2 BR deluxe would sleep 6 with the 2 BR rooms and one foldout couch. So I guess it would depend if you want sleep 6 or 8 and have two spate units connected or just one.

I prefer Baypoint because of its location on the water and the ability to view sunsets & dolphins at play depending on your unit location (some units do not have beach / water view. You need to know though that the Baypoint units are outdated and in need of an upgrade. There is also no swimming pool located at Baypoint because you have easy access to the beach / water whereas the Village has a nice pool and hot tub with a long walk or short drive to the beach. You would need to decide if you want to give up quality of the unit (outdated) for location or if you want a quality unit and not be on the beach / water. I have heard though that Baypoint is scheduled for refurbishment / upgrade beginning some time in 2012. Just not sure when it will begin. I am sure if you called the resort, they can tell you.

We are scheduled to go back to Ocean Ridge in late June. We have been there 6 or 7 times and have enjoyed it every time. Enjoy your stay.

I prefer Baypoint for the views, but the bugs can be bad on the beach at the bay there. Villages pools are great...Baypoint has no pools so you'll have to drive to other pools (and if they're closed due to maintenance or lightning in the area, you'll have driven for no reason.) Villages' villas are new, and spacious; Baypoint's are older, a bit tired and worn and have a confined feel, especially in the master bath. It's up to you what you prefer...and where Wyndham's check in people decide to put you, of course. Enjoy!
