I've purchased at Havasu Dunes, I did so for 2 reasons, 1. location- it's easily accessible from 2 airports that I can get cheap direct flights for, it's warm-which is VERY important when you live in Canada and just hired a bobcat to clear the 6' of snow on your drive way!, 2. price it was a buck, It was advertised as a Wyndham property, when I noticed that Wyndham did not have any information listed on thier website I asked the seller who told me it was "managed" by Wyndham- what does that mean? I suspect not much and I am also guessing Wyndham property cannot be exchanged thru the Wyndham system and I would have to go through RCI- is that correct?

Just Wyndham is the management company. The resort is not part of Wyndham point system. I believe the resort is part of other resort chain Wyndham purchased. See this advice section http://www.tug2.net/advice/FAIRFIELD_RESORT_MANAGEMENT_SERVICES.htm

You can use it within that resort chain, although I am not sure if there are enough inventories still actively support that. You can deposit it to an exchange company.
