I own floating weeks at Wyndham Long Wharf, which has dual affiliation with Interval and RCI. For the past several years, I have had no problem in depositing a few of these weeks (latest was last summer). On 6/29, I deposited a week through my Interval account and today received a postcard from Interval saying that my deposited week is not yet eligible for exchange.

After several hours on the phone this morning with Wyndham Customer Service and later with someone at the resort, I still cannot get to the root of the problem. Customer Care only tells me that the week cannot be deposited with Interval, but cannot provide a reason or tell me what has changed from last year. The executive assistant the the resort manager is new to the job and could not help me other than to provide the email to a person who may be able to help, but was not in the office today. In the meanwhile, tomorrow is the drop dead date for Interval to hold this week for deposit. Has anyone encountered this problem before?

That does not apply to floating weeks.

I suspect this is a matter of someone at the resort being new and inexperienced. If that person is the resort manager, you may need to get in touch with someone from the HOA Board to help "educate" them.

After numerous calls, my week was finally deposited yesterday. For some reason, there is a specific person at the resort who needs to approve the deposit. Of course, this was not the person that Interval was contacting. Why this differs from how the other Newport deposits get approved is a mystery to me.
