Must report about my contact with Wyndham today. We had reservations at the Wyndham Clearwater Beach Resort starting this Sunday. Obviously, Hurricane Milton put a hold on our plans to visit Clearwater Beach. I called Wyndham and explained our situation that we must cancel our reservation and see what options there are available to us. The two individuals I spoke with (one in Florida and the other in the Philippines) were understanding and kind. They offered to extend the points into a future year and this is what was done. There was a $49 charge for this, but my 2024 points used for the Clearwater reservation were moved to the 2026 use year per my request. There was no run around and all was resolved with one phone call. In all my past and current dealings with Wyndham, they have always responded in a positive professional way and we are very pleased with them. We have never had a problem with Wyndham customer service and are very happy with our membership.

That's nice of Wyndham. I am surprised they didn't tell you that you should have purchased point protection. I always unclick that automatic check mark.

That's nice of Wyndham. But also shows one of their biggest flaws / frustrations. Inconsistency. Similar situation for me, but they would not extend the points into a future year. Better than nothing, but not as good (or consistent) as they did for OP. VIP Founder / hybrid account - resale points that I must use this year. And, yes, I asked if they could deposit them to 2025 and was told no.

A correction to the South Florida resorts: Royal Vista is closed for renovations until late November.
