I am looking at purchasing points at a Wyndham resort in NC. Has anyone stayed at both Fairfield Mts and Sapphire Mts? If so which resort did you prefer? Also considering purchasing points at a resort in TN, where I can possibily get more points for $$.

The biggest is not WHERE you buy, but HOW MUCH it costs. You could buy a low (price/point) resort in one state, never go to that one, while enjoying better resorts elsewhere.

I haven't stayed at Sapphire Valley, but I have stayed at Mountains. Both of these resorts are what is called "campus style". That means that the buildings are spread out, not clustered together. You need a car to get to the lake and activity complex from the condos.
Only two of the sections are managed by Wyndham (Mountain Loft & Maple Ridge). Mountain Loft is closest to the activities. VRI manages others, maybe all of the rest. The activity complex has another management company.

I am going to Fairfield, and I was wondering if the fireplaces are actual fireplaces or if they are gas/electric. I have a bunch of fire logs, but don't want to bring any if the fireplaces won't take them.
