I'm looking into reserving a couple of nights at the Wyndham Durango next year, and can't figure out the difference between the one bedroom deluxe and studio units (except the number of points required!) Looking on line at the Wyndham website, the square footage and floor plans look identical. Does anyone know what the difference is ?
Thanks!

The differences are tile floors v. linoleum flooring in the kitchen. Nicer kitchens and furnishings in the deluxe condos. Other than that they are the same.

Durango is one of our favorite resorts and is in a great location. It's in historic downtown Durango. You may want to add a couple additional nights.

Many thanks! I'm still in the planning phase of this trip...we were thinking
about 3 (or 4 ?) nights in Durango and 3 or 4 at Pagosa Springs. I would welcome your input on things to do in the area-we have never been to that part of Colorado! Would fall (mid-September) be a good time to go ?

We loved this resort (even though you can hear your neighbors easily) because of its location to the downtown area, and also because it is so close to Mesa Verde National Park. Mesa Verde NP is spectacular. There are so many things to do in this area - take the train (or drive) to other fun and historic places, hikes, Mesa Verde. It's awesome. Just writing this makes me think we need to get back there SOON.

My first "tour" with Wyndham was in Durango. This was before they had a timeshare in Durango (the deed was going to be in Pagosa Springs but they "promised" ARP privileges in Durango once the resort was finished). The Durango resort that was presented never materialized. The current resort is a converted hotel. The rooms are very small. However the location is great.

You would definitely want to see Mesa Verde while in Durango, taking the train to Silverton is fun too although there could be snow by September.

Pagosa is a huge resort with things to do onsite. You can visit the hot springs in town, and if you didn't get enough of the ruins at Mesa Verde, you can visit Chimney Rock National Monument. (I am fascinated by all those archeological sites).

If you're ever there during ski season, you have to go to Wolf Creek ski resort. My kids (now adults) learned to ski and snowboard there. Durango also has a ski resort nearby (Durango Mountain Resort - formerly called Purgatory).
