Greetings Wyndham Owners,

We will be staying at the Wyndham Cypress Palms in Orlando for Thanksgiving week. For those that have stayed there, any recommendations on what area of the complex to stay at? Best view? Quiet area?
Any other information to know.

In addition, I know that i will be persuaded to attend an owners update meeting when i get my parking pass. I have been to few of these in the past, and it always ends up with the a hard sell to buy more points. I read one post where they signed up for an owners update and just didn't show up. Any ideas in weaseling your way out of one of these? Please share your tactics:annoyed:

We will be taking our 7 year old son and my nephew to visit all the parks at WDW. I really don't want to waste half of our day sitting through a presentation / sales pitch.

Thanks you in advance for your help.

They are now asking owners for a $20 deposit to cover the cost of the "update meal". Its refundable when you show up. Do not pay the $20, do not sign up for a meeting, and enjoy your vacation.

Why do you need a way to "weasel" out? Just politely but firmly say no thank you. If they persist, stop being polite. It's your vacation, and you're under no obligation to attend a sales pitch (no matter what they may call it).

Thank you for this. I completely forgot about the $20 deposit for the update meal.

:wall:when we went in the summer we was suppose to get big meal but it was a fruit plate 2-3 grapes half apple and maybe 2-3 slices of orange not worth 20 dollars for two of those plates. very high pressure sale made to feel very uncomfortable when we said no. tried to tell salesman we did not sign up for sales but for owners update but would not listen will never do another one

At Skyline Towers a couple of weeks ago ... not asked ... I guess I am on the "NO TOUR" list for awhile .

NO FREE MONEY? Oh, schucks! So unhappy (NOT!).

We stayed there in April and were by the activity center. I don't remember the building number, but it was nice cause you could be get your coffee and whatever else they were offering. It was the best activity center we have experienced. The building we stayed in was recently updated and was very nice. It was also easy to exit the resort because there was a exit right there.
Views are of parking lots and trees, not much to look at.

If mobility is an issue at all call now and ask for either the ground floor or to be near an elevator. Elevators and luggage carts are few and far between at this resort! We were just there in September and it was quite nice. I wrote a review in the resort review section here at TUG.

I'm staying at Wyndham Cypress Palms this week and agreed to go to the "owner update" for $150 GC, but I did not know at the time it was going to be a group meeting over at Star Island instead of one on one at Cypress Palms. I always get out of 1-on-1 owner updates quickly because they want go get rid of me, but this sucked up two hours of my day today with a hard sell on "Wyndhamizing" my resale points so I could take advantage of VIP and Pic Plus. Ummm, no thanks.

If I weren't buying an XBox One next week I wouldn't have bothered with it LOL

Sorry, I do not remember why the room number is so odd -- you might call and ask them...

We really like Cypress Palms, it's peaceful and quiet.

Number One Advice: Do NOT attend the sales presentation which is now called a "SCHOOL" (at least here in Hawaii.)
