I understand from reviews and much research that Wyndham took this resort over a few years back. It also seems to have separate "resorts" within the resort - i.e. "Sabor" which is adult only with a little higher AI rate.

If we trade into a Studio or a Hotel unit at this resort (only thing that I see available with my deposit) - does anyone have any idea where we would be? I did find out that Trades require the mandatory AI rate - so I'm guessing it would be on the "family" type side - but since it is a timeshare trade - is it within another separate "timeshare" members area? Separate privileges?

Thanks in advance for your help - and if you have any other pertinent info on this resort, it would be much welcomed!

We have gone ahead and booked a studio and a hotel unit here for March. There were only a few airline seats available and I didn't want to miss out. I didn't really want to do AI with an exchange - but since there aren't kitchens here, didn't think that this price could be beat! I still haven't been able to figure out the configuration of the units at this resort, so any help there would be great!

And now..., if anyone has any good pointers on this resort, please pass them on! Thanks much TUGGERS!

We are members @ Reef Club. Our daughter & son-in law return tomorrow [Sun.] from a week @ the resort. Hotel units in hotel section & Studio & 1 bed units with limited kitchens are located in the T/S section with members bar, restaurant, and pool. Members & exchanges have the use of all Reef Club and Wyndam Hotel facilities except Sabor section. Taxi to town for groceries is $14 each way so for 1 week stay I recomend the A/I. 2 restaurants,1 buffet , snack bar, and 3 bars available . Great snorkeling off the beach, excelent snorkeling and diving 15 minutes with:) onsite Sand Dollar Charters. We always enjoy this south end Cozumel resort. Good Luck and we will be happy to answer any questions.

Thanks for the info - I "Guest Certificated" the studio to our friends - and we took the Hotel unit as we didn't really care if we had a King bed or not and they did. Thinking that might have been a bad deal for us!? :)

We look forward to going to Cozumel - I have only been there on a day trip probably ten years ago.

We did this fast - without much time to research - so now I'm collecting the info! I read somewhere about shuttles to the hotel - is it better to take the vans or a taxi? And about how much should we expect to pay for the transfer?

Thanks!!

We were in Cozumel in Jan. 2008. We stayed at the El Cid LeCeiba and really like it.
I had done some research on airport transfers etc. and decided we would just book at the airport. When you exit after getting your luggage there is a room where you can book shuttle etc. We booked a taxi at that counter and it was $8 per person. We felt it was a pretty good deal.

I did write a review of Le Ceiba in tug if anyone is interested in reading it.
