While in Cabo during February 2011 several people mentioned Wyndham had purchased huge run down hotel at end of marina in shopping complex.

This last January there were big Wyndham signs on property and actually a hotel was in operation and lots of construction going on!

However, staff did not know about timeshare.

I understand Wyndham is gutting out hotel and converting to time shares.
Does anyone have any info or even hot rumors?

You are referring to Tesoro hotel that wyndham bought, not sure if they are just renovating or actually constructing timeshare units

The old Tesoro Hotel ( Plaza Las Glorias prior to that) is physically divided by an access alley into 2 sections. When we stayed there last September, we were told half would be converted into timeshares and the other half would remain a hotel. There were already some timeshare units at this location that apparently just keep being absorbed into the new ownerships. There were supposed to be some major upgrades started in September such as completely redoing the swimming pool that was still not started in November. However, we did see some room interiors that seemed to be improved on.
Know for a fact at least some of it will remain timeshare as we took their timeshare tour. I would be interested to know if they started replacing the old pool.
