Ok this is probably a silly question but none the less I am asking it. :)

I am not a Wyndham owner I booked in to Wyndham Skyline Tower.

I just noticed the RCI site has the following

Check In Time: 16:00

My flight has me arriving in that area around 8:14 PM

I am wondering if 16:00 I am thinking means earliest check in is 4:00 PM

What is the latest Check In time before considered being late and forfeiting reservations.

Yes, the room is supposed to be ready by 4 (but it's not always). Theoretically you could check in on day 6 of 7, but I always call the resort and let them know if I'm not arriving sometime on the check in day.

There is no time when your reservation will be forfeited. Check in the next morning ...or two days late if you want, The room ought to be waiting for you

having said that I always call and let the desk know when I expect to be there.

Late check-in can leave you with the least desirable unit, especially if you are not an owner.

Example: Let's say you have a 2BR Deluxe unit at Ocean Walk in Daytona. If you check in close to 4 PM, you might get an oceanfront or ocean view unit. If you check in two or three days late, you will almost certainly get a city view unit.

All this makes sense bc even with an RCI reservation I reserved and paid for the week. I am new to exchanging etc definitely was just wanting to make sure.

I have a blue/green reservation also on there I am thinking it should work the same way.

Check-in time is @ 4:00 PM; however, I would telephone or text the resort to inform them that you are arriving late. Always cover all bases.

Yes, 1600 (or 16:00) is the same as 4 p.m. Welcome to how most of the world (the U.S. being one exception) expresses time!

Only a few of the smaller Wyndham resorts close the front desk at night, but arrange for guests to get as key somehow (Durango as an example). The rest have 24 hours front desk check-ins. As for losing your reservation, it's your reservation paid for with your points so do worry about an off the street walk-in owner taking it from you.

Atlantic City's boardwalk was nice when we were there, but that was a month or so before Hurricane Sandy hit. I'm curious to know how it is now...

Was at the Wyndham in AC in March. Everything looked like it had been repaired. The boardwalk was fine.

While that may be the case for RCI (I have no knowledge of RCI procedures regarding late check in), this is NOT the case when booked using Wyndham Points.

Page 341 of the members directory: If you will be checking in late, please notify the resort of your late arrival and check-in no later than 48 hours after your scheduled arrival date. Failure to do so may result in the cancellation of your reservation without notification and forfeiture of all Club Wyndham plus points associated with your reservation.

I just had this happen today. I had a 1br this week at the Grand Desert and I ended up not going to a conference. A friend did go that had their own 1br. Mine was Jan 5-9 and theirs was Jan 5-8. They were considering staying an extra night. I called this morning and the Grand Desert said mine had been cancelled as I had not checked in yet. I looked it up and found the statement above. Before I called OC to protest, as I did call the resort prior to 48 hours, my friend decided to not stay. No harm this time, but important to know for future.
