VIPs do have a limited number of RARP reservations they can make at 11 months - this comes after everyone (VIP and non) who can book with their ARP privileges at their home resort(s) at 13 months. And your Myrtle Beach example is interesting because summer at MB is excluded from RARP, so definitely not a VIP privilege at all, whereas I own resale deeded points at Myrtle Beach that I can use to book there at 13 months.
But it is at select resorts- not all qualify. The one our extended family wanted at Christmas turned out to be not RARP eligible. Gotta read the small print very carefully.

WorldMark is very west coast focused I believe. As someone who lives on the east coast (SE FL) the travel distance / expensive would be prohibitive. Plus the time difference which impacts REM sleep patterns.

How do you find these Founder's Level Owners to rent from?
Found 2 BR Deluxe at Wyndham Pagosa for less than $60/night on eBay for a short ski vacation. Have no idea if they are Founders Level and do not care.

Probably a rare occurence due to Covid lack of demand for vacations, but strike while the iron is hot!

An off-season 5-nights is available at Wyndham Pagosa at less than $60/night

The perfect time of year to tour Mesa Verde and/or Monument Valley.

Do not believe for a second that you can reserve what you want when you want from a VIP Platinum or Founder's Level at a discount.

That may have been the case years ago, but not anymore.

VIP owners are now mostly limited to reserving whatever can be found within the 60-day discount window. Some, a few, are very nice units; most are the leftovers. If you can make use of the leftovers from a VIP who upgraded and would pass on some of the discount like dlagati suggests (rare, but it can happen even on eBay), then good luck.

The key is to be flexible with your travel plans. Book inside the 60 day window for discounts and free upgrades if available.

Wyndhams strategy of daze and confuse. Worldmark is very user friendly compareD to the Club Wyndham IMHO. This is from my personnel experience trading and owning both. Monthly fees are also lower on the Worldmark side since they don't offer the VIP ownership discounts that is subsidized by Non VIP owners.

On the other hand, Worldmark is more geared to Western US travel, where Club Wyndham offers more options in the East.

And a respectful point of contention: CWP VIP discounts are subsidized by the developer, not non-VIP owners. If a VIP gets a 50% points discount, Wyndham backfills the discounted points from developer inventory. GC revenue goes to Club Operations, not the associations, so free GCs don't affect the associations or other members. There may be a minor odd benefit that affects non-VIPs, but it doesn't come to mind for me right now.

You are correct in saying that the VIP benefits come out of Wyndham's pocket, not the associations nor other owners pockets. Saying that it does is spreading false information with the intent to create contention between VIP owners and those who are not VIP owners. We have several TUG members who have been guilty of doing this repeatedly.

Remember in the future if you attend a sales pitch for some reason depending on the location you are only required to stay 60 to 120 minutes. So when the time is up just stand up and ask for your gift. We usually received $150 to $200. Do not stay for 4 hours.

Yep, one particularly bitter one only makes posts complaining about this false narrative
