WSJ cancel rebook yay

So last night I sweated a lot but it worked.

I had 2 hotel nights (32k SP) and 9 SO 2bed (212 SO) nights for Feb. A search showed a low availability studio I could replace the hotel nights with but it needed a 3 night min and 400 points more than I had spare.

So at about 7pm. While on the phone with SVN we cancelled the 9 nights and paid $50. I immediately grabbed the 3 nights (36k SO) and the rep on the phone booked the 8 2bed nights of the original 9 (194K SO). The two confirmation numbers are sequential! Phew

32,000 SP to use elsewhere and 20k SO that need to be used in '16 or '17 burned.

Also more room for the fam on the first 2 nights and a fridge for out stuff carted in from the mainland.

Our friends arrive on day 4 so it all works perfectly

Erm, a couple of tents and a call to NPS!

More seriously...
1) The time of day expecting not many others are messing with bookings at that time. The sequential booking numbers bear witness to that. Lesson for all - mess with bookings while others are sleeping or late in the day before resolution services closes.
2) the close time to departure anticipating not many are booking WSJ at less than 40 days. The jokes here about the inventory release for Christmas gave me confidence there. Timeshare users are planners not see what's available for next month people.
3) the fact I could book the studio for midweek and get the 5 min clock made the inventory real. Also I could see it for a whole week indicating a cancellation of a use week. The fact the 2 bed availability was not flagged as low so I had confidence I could reclaim my 9 nights.

That said I was schvitzing as I went through this.

Now I just need the cliff notes version. Of the WSJ thread. Eats, Beaches, activities.

With the 21 month old we are taking Westin Breeze over. Someone else can carry the bags and car seats. That's worth the premium to me. Also with a 1pm landing the 3pm should be quite easy to catch.
