Given the situation around the globe...tempers flaring...folks stressed out and or otherwise far more nervous or on edge than usual....all perfectly understandable.

however with many reported posts over the past few days regarding the political undertones that seem to slowly (or quickly in some cases) creep into threads, its getting out of hand.

if you need to take your mind off the situation and revert to a happier time, please consider writing a review! We have had very, very few of these submitted over the past week or so and it would result in not only a nice change of pace, but allow others to read and get a few minutes of "virtual vacation" themselves!

Make someone elses day by providing a few minutes of stress relief (even if its just a moderator who doesnt have to go thru a dozen reports) =)

Hmmm. The last timeshare stay we had was last July, and nothing changed there, and I'm not even sure it will be open when our week rolls around next July. I can report on a November cruise from Japan to Korea, Taiwan, Shanghai and Hong Kong, but nobody I know is cruising now. I reported on that one, day-by-day anyway through the magic of unlimited internet. Here's that thread: https://tugbbs.com/forums/threads/a-plug-for-cruise-critic.297955/#post-2359623 in case you missed it or just want a trip down memory lane of how life was pre-COVID-19. (sigh)

It is one of the reasons I left Facebook, the political pushing. Even now when I want to see how everyone is doing I have stood away from Facebook as I just do not want to see the political stuff.

I have felt uneasy recently with the politically inclined posts here on TUG. Those pushers state it is a fact, and whether it is or not, it is still political.

So if you are reading this, please stop. Thank you Brian and Tug for spending the time to try keeping our community political free.

I hate saying this but maybe a policy, first time you are warned, second time you are warned, third time you have you privileges suspended for a set time.

I didn't write a review on our last stay since it was our home resort and I've written many reviews for them. If we go to Newport RI in October I'll write a review for that one.

Well, the place I'm staying at now is a complete loser. Needs updating. Looks like housekeeping hasn't been here in a long time. Zero onsite amenities. The wifi isn't free, but there is garage parking (no valet!) It's a nice property if you like quiet and nature, probably too secluded for some. Absolutely nothing for kids to do, but has a stocked liquor cabinet. Spacious, laundry in unit, kitchen is too small but serviceable. Dogs allowed. I'd give it 3*

Why not create a special forum for general discussions regarding the health situation in the United States and around the globe. That way you can divide those issues from the Tug Lounge threads & posts, making it easier to read or ignore.

Good idea Brian, I just wrote and submitted one for Marriotts Beachplace Towers that we stayed at earlier this month, just before the world changed! Stay Safe everyone.

Wish I could write another review for Hyatt Mountain Lodge and The Residences at Park Hyatt Beaver Creek, but lamentably both stays were cancelled. Hopefully I can get to the Hyatt Coconut Plantation over summer.

Well - would have written a review for Desert Breezes, except that trip got cancelled. But just before we went into isolation/hibernation/desiccation/ossification, I did submit a review from our February trip to Zihua. And it was only the second review provided for that resort.

Panina, regarding FB, have you looked at the page where you can designate which people you want to appear in your news feed? I have a couple friends/family members who post things I find offensive, so I exclude their postings from my news feed. If I want to check on them, I can visit their page. (Not the same as 'unfriending' a person.)

Brian: How do we submit a review for a place that is not on your list.
For example, we went to The Lakelands in Ambleside in the Lake District this past July through an II exchange.

What? No weeds need pulling? No lawn wants mowing? No leaves to rake? No windows need washing? No gutter needs cleaning?
I can't imaging anyplace not offering something for kids and teens to do!

If you are able to get your kids to do that "on vacation", Good Job!

It's chilly here but for sure, that never stopped my mother from handing out chores. We knew better than to ever say "I'm bored". Find something to do or they will find something for you to do!

Indeed, you are correct, there are many many things here for kids To Do. I just recall my sister ranting on a trip or two that her kids had "nothing" to do and it was all my fault .... and all of my suggestions were shot down. I have never again invited her anywhere, and definitely not here. Not like her kids were unfamiliar with how books work, and this place has a big library.

I am saddened by some recent behavior that is occurring here on tug.

Seems some are attacking personally other tuggers and this is happening more often. Of course the political inclinations are inserted too.

Some threads are being hijacked injecting the virus debate/discussion where that was not the intent of the thread. When this happens the attacks follow.

What as a community are we supposed to do? I personally will just ignore those who cannot help themselves but I am afraid we can lose some of our best.

its certainly an ugly time no doubt about it.

and sadly there seems to be a much larger increase in angry posts than reviews :(

even more frustrating to spend far more time moderating/editing political or ugly posts...than posting reviews :(
