OK, so this is totally gross! I ordered this adorable pair of Dansko shoes that my friend has and I have been eyeing for months. I found them on sale at this website called 6pm.com. I placed the order about 10 days ago.

http://www.6pm.com/dansko-serena

I am of course the queen of on-line ordering so I am getting more and more impatient as the 10 days go buy (can you say Amazon Prime customer?).

I finally get them today. I cannot believe it but they are USED. Not just gently worn but totally stained up with sweat, used, nasty, smelly and scuffed up.

I am floored! I just emailed customer service. I just can't believe it. Worse than some eBay cheater. UGH. It turned my stomach to see these nasty old shoes sitting in my living room. So I had to pack them up and put them out in the garage. Good grief!

Never again...

So, I paid $20 more and ordered them Prime from Amazon. :D

YUCK! You poor thing ---- who would have ever DREAMED (nightmared?) that they would be selling used shoes.

Their pictures are clearly new shoes.

Good grief!

Looked for reviews of the company. Most reviewers gave them only 1 star (I guess no stars is not an option.

Two other reviewers complained of receiving used shoes[/URL]. And no on was warned that the shoes were used.

Gross

Whoa. I've ordered shoes from them several times and NEVER had this problem. The shoes were always new shoes in new boxes. I think once the box was scuffy, but the shoes were brand new. Sorry you had this problem!!!

That sucks...

I suggest Zappos.com for all your shoe needs! They ship free both ways and I have never had a time where my shoes werent upgraded to free 2nd day or even overnight delivery.

I literally ordered sneakers once at 10pm, and they were at my door by early afternoon the next day! They are like the Santa-Claus of shoes!!

I have ordered from them before, with no issues at all. I am pretty sure they are the discount arm of Zappos, so I am very suprised to hear about the used shoes. Yuck!

DW- the other online order queen- tells me to have the OP (or anyone) post reviews on www.pissedconsumer.com She had similar experience with NorthStyle- not used mdse, just very sloooooow service. Now she checks them before using any new online store. We know what to expect with Amazon or Land's End, but with 'joeschmockatelli.com' who knows?

I think you are right because they came in a Zappos box. I emailed them last night but have heard nothing. Can't wait to submit the complaint to Am Express and have them reverse the charge! Blech!

And wasn't this site recommended on the UGGs thread a few weeks ago?

Yes, the same site. I've bought things from them a couple of times before, but I never received used shoes! After reading this thread, combined with the bad experience I had with their return policy, I think I'll be steering clear from now on. It's just not worth it.

I still haven't heard back from their customer service person so I am fully prepared for a report to my credit card company. Took pix of the yucky shoes too so I can show them just how bad they are. I have 3+ year old shoes that look cleaner than these! Unbelievable. Do they have 0 quality control?

Yes, I recommended it! I'm sorry. Honestly, I've only had good experiences with them. :(

It sounds like a disgruntled employee. Maybe she traded shoes before she mailed them off.

Well, since I know you  I might give them a try if I'm shoe shopping - let's hope Katherine's experience was a fluke.

I once sent in an Apple keyboard for replacement, and the "new" one was clearly someone else's old one sent in for replacement - fortunately I opened the package right in front of the delivery person, so refused shipment and got a brand-new one two days later.

I guess mix-ups happen, but it'd be interesting to know 6pm's track record.

Also try endless.com

Endless.com is one of my favorite online vendors. they have Free overnight shipping.

I once ordered a pair of snow boots at the beginning of a snowstorm here in Kansas City. The boots were on my doorstep by 10am the next morning before I left the house :)

Given stores the benefit of the doubt, it could be that there was a lapse in the return process. Likely someone previously returned them, and the return dept didn't do a good job (any job!) in not returning them to the resale pile. Once there, I doubt the person who pulled them for your order even looked at them.

Well, guess what, no response from them still via email. Went on website and cannot even find a phone number to call customer service. Sent a 2nd email so we shall see. Itching to just call Am Ex and let them handle it because i hate having this hanging over my head.

Oh, and I got the amazon.com version of the shoes of course yesterday (send Prime 2d shipping) and they are gorgeous and new and I just love them! I can't wait to get rid of the used ones.

It must not be common knowledge.

6pm is a division of Zappos
Zappos is owned by Amazon

I did not know Zappos is owned by Amazon?!!! It makes since because when I order stuff from Zappos (and Amazon), it typically arrives the next day. Only Amazon can pull off that kind of shipping speed time and time again.

I use Amazon so often I actually got a HAND written thank you note last year from some exec there thanking me for my business! :D

I had no idea 6pm is related. Frankly, they should sell it off before it drags down their reputation. BLECH.

Interesting, because endless.com is also related to Amazon. They are a great site, and freq. there are coupons for them too- anywhere from 10-40% discounts. Free shipping both directions. Shoebuy.com is another good online source. I wear a narrow, so have to buy all my shoes online. Love the free shipping in both directions!

Thanks for the phone number. It forked to call them. They said they never got my emails (Ha) but then the guy quickly generated a return label for me via UPS, postage paid. He was very nice and apologetic.

Glad that's done but frankly with so many other great options (including zappos where you can even return without waiting for someone to call you back and give you a shipping label), I will never be ordering from these guys again.

I am gonna check out endless too. I agree that return shipping options are key when it comes to shoes!

With Amazon, clothes are free returns too so I buy my kids' stuff there quite often, like the formal dress for our upcoming cruise. :)

I have never had a problem with 6PM.com

I am another satisfied customer of online shopping with 6PM.com, and I have bought approximately a dozen pairs of shoes from them in the past 3 years. They have some awesome discounts on high end shoes.

I am sorry to hear of your experience, and they should make sure returns are checked for whether or not they have been worn. They need to beef up their QA.

I don't blame you if you don't give them another chance, I probably wouldn't either if that were my first experience! However, I can't believe that this is theri routine practice..
