I probably still won't go, as I might be stuck for two weeks.

On a whim, I did check 90 day ticker on vacationstogo yesterday. I noticed this, too, and some single supplements of 0. tempting. But only with a balcony and a months' worth of books, just in case...

If illness comes and goes as flu, I could handle it. Not sure deaths are going to be confined to those elderly or with other issues. I'd like to know more first. I'm not dying to go on a cruise.

Haven't seen dirt cheap airfare. then, sure, I could see myself doing a long cruise for low money. Maybe back to back one ways. I dunno, could get darned tempting.

Yes, that 90 day ticker has some awesome pricing. I think after the last fiasco...the CDC or whatever agency is in charge will allow another quarantine on a ship. I have been watching my upcoming cruise later this month to take advantage of a price drop (thinking better cabin category) but nothing......its DCL. That darn mouse just never gives a break!

Lol, I looked at DCL too for our short cruise with my nieces in late August.
I’ll have to cancel if the virus is still going strong when the final payment is due.

Don't give up, it was 3 days before my Alaskan cruise that I got bumped from steerage to balcony. You just never know!

If nieces are young, I would do same. I'm ok with myself into a questionable situation, but not others.

Yes, there are humongous bargains. Just watch the locale. Many lines are canceling Asia cruises, bringing those ships back to cruise closer waters- West Coast, Caribbean, N. Europe. Windstar (very desirable) allows cancellation as late as 15 days before departure. Celebrity refunds airfare (and cruise cost) if booked through their in-house agency then subsequently cancelled.

For those concerned about quarantines, remember that episode was just a couple of ships of the hundreds of cruise chips going about their cruises without any difficulty at all.

We have final payment coming up in a few days for a Summer, Mediterranean cruise. They've already upgraded our basic balcony cabin to full-on suite with all the perks including butler for the same price. We are confidently holding our fingers crossed that it will come off, and that if governments close ports or the CV-19 goes into pandemic mode, insurance will recover the cost. Gutsy, I know, but you only go around once.

Maybe we're braver (or dumber) than most, but we went to N. Africa shortly after 9/11, Thailand just after their currency crisis, Hong Kong during the SARS epidemic. So far, so good, and the people in these troubled places need to make a living and will do whatever is necessary to make visitors happy and healthy.

I'm leaving Friday for an 8 day Caribbean cruise that was booked last August. We have been getting regular updates from RCCL with travel restrictions for passengers from impacted countries and they are not letting anyone from or have received traveled to or from those countries sail and are giving full refunds.
Honestly, I am more concerned about standing In the TSA line at SeaTac than I am about the cruise

We have our Mediterranean cruise in April. It's with Norwegian out of Rome. I am freaking out about the flights, and so is our daughter-in-law. The guys are not freaking out. The cruise line upgraded our cabin to a bigger aft suite. I am excited about the upgrade, but we overpaid for the cruise, compared to the new prices.

Is vacationstogo legit? I see 82 percent off, but I see 50 percent off directly on Carnival's or Diamond's website.

Yes, but they upsell you when you call. They will talk you out of the cheapest price listed. It is still a big savings.

Yes. We use them a lot. They are very responsive. We have an agent there who gives us great service- watching for upgrades, perks, etc. PM me if you want his name.
Re: upsell. Those bottom prices are for inside cabins at the ends of the ships where there is no view, and more movement or mechanical noises. You don't want those anyway. Like cheap TSs over the Disco with a dumpster view in mud season. Same deal.

Oh, actually, I do! My bottom line is to be ON the ship as cheaply as possible. Maybe eventually I'll be able to buy what I want, but frugal extravagance is what I can do. I generally don't care where my cabin is located.

I'm not in my cabin much, and can sleep soundly through most anything. Sometimes upgrades happen but I'm always good with what I have.

For now, tho, I'd at least need a porthole if I were unable to leave my room. Even with my cheapie self, I have to have a view to the outside world if I am confined to quarters. The single supplements removed is causing me all kinds of wanderlust...

Before you book a cruise please check your travel insurance policy and the cruise line policy for canceling a cruise, because of the coronavirus. You may be surprised.

I will never cruise Disney Cruise Lines because they burned us when our young son became ill with pneumonia and refused to refund for a cruise even with doctor's note for a sick kid. What were we supposed to do - bring our sick kid on the ship and pass it along to all the other kids? Even United refunded airfare with few questions asked even though we had non-refundable fares. Out a few thousand dollars - more than I paid for our last resale timeshare.

Greedy Mouse. Never again.

We decided not to go on Allure of the Seas last Sunday, Fort Lauderdale to Barcelona. Over 70, one of us has iffy lung function when having a chest cold. Word from the cruise's FB group was that there were 46 available cabins one week before, and 116 one day before.

And I was just looking at the seat map on a flight from LGW to Bologna. This Friday, it's an airplane that seats 160 and looks at least half empty; for March 15 it's a plane that seats 110 and looks like it has seven seats assigned (but that doesn't mean there aren't more).

Buy travel insurance like everyone else? Sorry, I don't see why you think Disney should have covered your cost when you chose to roll the dice and not buy insurance. But that's just me.

Out of curiosity, I just checked our flights to Mexico for spring break. The flights are still full, so it doesn't look like college students are too worried about coronavirus!

Healthy, young adults not being worried about a disease that is extremely rare to contract and, for their age group, has a very low probability of even moderate symptoms if they were infected. Sounds about right to me.

Yes, that's true and I'm glad to see that panic has not spread everywhere.
