Would it be less likely to get a deedback from the Timeshare Company if we use the timeshare?

Does using a timeshare have any effect on whether you can get a deedback/ sell it to someone else?

  • Yes, do not use it if you are trying to get rid of it.

Would it hurt your chances of getting a deedback with your Timeshare company if you still use the timeshare?

doubt it would have any bearing on the decision one way or another to be honest.

the usual dealbreaker is being delinquent in maint fees, or still owing on the loan.

in your profile it shows you are a bluegreen owner, you can usually give those points away fairly easily!

“Give those points away”... Do you mean back to Bluegreen or to someone else like here on the TUG forum?

You can offer them on Tug. There is also a Bluegreen Facebook group that you can offer them on.

So, you're saying that I probably cannot get a deedback, but if I "give one away" here or fb/etc, would I be able to get a binding legal contract, so that the "recipient" of my gift, would be legally responsible for maintenance fees, etc.? (I have clicked on the link from the TUG article, in order to get a legal document, but that is no longer working to get this kit.)

Once you find a buyer/taker, contact Bluegreen. They will handle everything for $450.

Keep in mind that, while they don't accept deedbacks, Bluegreen sometimes exercises ROFR. I would suggest having the new owner pay the $450 fee, because if Bluegreen does ROFR the buyer/taker will get their money back. Apparently the seller/giver does NOT get reimbursed in the case of ROFR.
