I decided to go to the sales presentation at MVC today mainly to find out what’s new and see if what we were told corresponds with what I’ve been reading on TUG. I would call this presentation we attended the non-presentation. The sales guy spoke about himself for 30 minutes. Then he made some generalized grandiose statements about how owners at Vistana, Hyatt and Welk are on waiting lists that are 2 years long so they can attend a presentation and have the opportunity to buy $15 DPs since their points cost $50 a point and Disney costs $238 a point. He said Chairman’s Level is going to 20,000 points (which contradicts what others have been told on TUG, others have quoted 17,000). He said MVC will be enhancing Chairman’s Club level so we better upgrade before it’s too late. However, he did not say what the new benefits would be. He never turned on the computer. I made it clear we would not be upgrading so he did not even make us an offer. We were out of there in an hour, but it should have been 20 minutes since there was no content in this so-called sales presentation. Then the encore guy came in and asked us to rate the presentation from 1-10. I rated it a zero. He looked shocked and asked why. I said it was not a sales presentation.

Oh man, they are lucky! I'm scheduled for one of those opportunity presentations in November 2023. :ROFLMAO:

The encore person asking you "survey" questions is just a ruse to transition into a sale of an Encore package. They write down your responses like they really matter. Chances are that sheet goes straight in the trash once the presentation is over. They don't use responses to that fake survey for anything.

I believe it. They did not try to sell me an encore package after that.

$350 for one hour of listening to a pompous ass instead of a high pressure ,2 hour, hard sell? Sounds like the best presentation to me!

Nice, $300 plus is my ‘yes rate’. Unfortunately, I’m seeing nothing better than $100.

We got $200 to attend a Westin Ka'anapali presentation. The presentation was mostly about how great Maui is and how popular it is. I kind of got the impression that Myrtle Beach (to them) was chopped liver. And I also thought it was a bit haughty when we told them we own 3 weeks oceanfront, 40 feet to the ocean, at Hono Koa down the street about a mile. The salesperson thought I was talking about Honua Kai. And you live on the island??? How unfamiliar are you with the island? It was like, "Forget what you own, this is better." Nah.
