Worldmark Indio in Cal

It appears to be a fairly new resort
(new buildings) near Palm Springs .
(2006)

What is the resort & the area like?
Is there a lot to see. How far to LV

My dad lives in Indio. It is about 1/2 hr from downtown Palm Springs. Indio is nice, but it is not as upscale as Palm Springs, Palm Desert, LaQuinta, etc. More of a suburban area.

If you are looking to stay in an upscale area - stick with those listed above. I have not visited Worldmark Indio specifically, but if you have a car available, Indio is a good base for the area attactions. There are fast food places, Kmart, grocery, good Mexican restaurants, etc.

I seem to remember that Kapish has stayed in the Worldmark in Indio. I think he even posted pictures.

Marty,we were there in May on an Extra Vacation week. The resort is quite nice, good pools and a wonderful lazy river that was unfortunately down the week we were there. :(

The units themselves are a little on the small side, but not uncomfortable. There were just the two of us in a 2-bedroom unit, but I felt it would have been a little cramped for 6 or even 4. The large balcony has its own gas bbq, which was great.

We checked out the presidential units while we were there. WOW!! They are spectacular and each has its own hot tub on the humungous balcony.

The grounds at Worldmark are very well-kept and everything looks very nice.
There is a lovely golf course on-site, but I don't know the prices

The resort is out in the middle of nowhere at the far end of a fairly upscale subdivision. We came in at night, and the poor signage made us think we were lost.

There is not much around there, except some locasl casinos (Yikes, we spent way too much time there!)
The local grocery store was very small, nothing like a chain such as Publix, Vons or Kroger.

We drove a lot on this vacation to see various sights, such as Palms to Pines Highway, Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, etc.

There are some reviews about this resort.

We had a very good time here.

Hi Marty,

We stay at WorldMark Indio quite often and have been in every regular sized unit. We have no problem with 6 in a two bedroom but really love the three bedroom units. The presidential units are glorious.

We have spent all of Spring Break, (two weeks), the past two years there. They have nice activities for the kids, tennis courts, basketball court, shuffleboard, pools, lazy river, and now a Domino's Pizza and small market onsite.

The golf course that surrounds the resort is beautiful and my hubby has enjoyed playing on it. There is quite a bit to do within a short drive and many stores/restaurants that are within 3 - 20 miles.

Las Vegas is a four or more hour drive from the Indio Resort. We go to the Las Vegas WorldMark quite often too.

Thanks for the information ....

Due to local municipality tax laws, the resort
will require the collection of an occupancy tax.

Accommodations tax is approximately
US $6.00 to US $17.00 Per Night,
BASED ON THE SIZE OF THE UNIT.

** STUDIO = US$5.47, 1 BEDROOM = US$6.76,
2 BEDROOM = US$8.11 3 BEDROOM = US$9.45

Do you have to pay the extra fees (taxes) when you trade in..
