Once owned these: FirstFairway@Walden X 2; Lawai Beach; ManhattanClub; PuebloBonitoRose; 4 South Africa--now timeshare-free
Has anyone been to this resort recently? It's in a 1929 renovated building near Balboa Park. There are no TUG reviews.

Seems a little sketchy from the reviews, albeit they are very dated.

Apparently, this place used to be a Staybridge Suites property.

I think the location looks terrific.
Eh, something is fishy. None of the photos shown on the TripAdvisor site match the WM San Diego downtown property. I know it went through a short phase as an "e-Hotel" before being purchased by Trendwest for Worldmark. Prior to being the e-Hotel the building was used for low-income rental housing.

LOL, funny. ;)

My husband and I had watched that building for years when working downtown customer sites. We couldn't help but see it and think about it as we had to turn onto the side street at the building's corner to join 5N. We always hoped something good could come for that building. When it became the eHotel, we thought it the building finally got its good break ... but the new owners painted over all the brickwork and made the building into a giant billboard. Uuugh.

Not long after we noticed it was being sandblasted to remove the paint and we were pleased. Imagine how tickled we were to learn it would become a new Worldmark destination!

Strangely, we haven't visited yet. I guess we are just waiting for the ideal weekend to book on Bonus Time when we can leave the cars behind.

The bottom line is it's half the space at twice the WM credits as other WM units.

One of the reasons I dont like bananas is that they are not round and red and they dont crunch like apples..But I do like banana cream pie, and you cant make banana cream pie without bananas

Sure an urban property is nothing like a typical timeshare resort, any more than an apple is like a banana, but if you want to stay in town, what are you going to do?

sure its half the space and its more credits than Id like and they dont have a pool and you have to pay for parking (if they have room) But you cant stay in town in a space bigger than a hotel, or even a one bedroom unit, with a kitchen, for less than $100 a night..I dont think thats too bad..

Its the urban resorts that brought me to Wyndham and why Im now buying in Worldmark...San Francisco, New Orleans, Washington DC, New Orleans, Seattle, Waikiki ..
