I just booked a night there for my SIL recently. She said there wasn't much to do except look at the old western town. She followed WorldMark Bison Ranch with 2 nights at WorldMark Pinetop and liked that much more - more to do there, she said.

I haven't been to either - just relating what she told me.

I stayed there about 3 years ago. The resort is nice enough, but there is not a lot to do in the area. My impression is that the area is mainly place within driving distance of Phoenix for them to get a little relief from the summer heat. We did some mountain biking, hiking, sight seeing, and shopping. IMHO, there are better destinations for these activities. We did visit Petrified Forest, Painted Desert, Montezuma Castle, Walnut Castle, and Meteor Crater. Those are fairly unique things you can't see elsewhere that are worth a visit but we covered all those in a couple of days.
