We have informed them several times that we have rescinded our decision and they act as though they've never heard that before.
We have only made the initial payment of about $1,200. We have told them that we will not be making any payments and told them they can take it back.
Is there some special wording or term that I should be using? I've used rescind and cancel.
And... who is it best sending this information to?

Are you within the allowed rescission period? It varies from state to state from a low of about 3 days to about 10 days from contract signing.

The address is required to be in the contract.

We suggest sending it to the TSs business office (not the resort) by USPS Certified and specify 'Rescission' on the front of the envelope.

You don't need a reason. Rescission is your right. They will know what to do with it.

find the cancellation section of your contract and follow the directions to the letter.

nothing else is required besides that!

Have you sent a letter, by mail? or have you only "told them verbally"?

You absolutely want to send a letter stating that you are exercising your right to rescind contract XXXXXX
Make sure the letter is postmarked within the rescission period. Send it certified mail, return receipt.
